Basically a King Kong tale with Man-Thing in New York. By-the-numbers stuff. Reed Richards and Tony Stark appear. But accomplish very little. 5/10

A bit of King Kong ape (no pun intended), but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Kind of puzzling to see the Thing simply shut up and didn't do anything to help his "friend".

  It's perfect.

Everything that is appealing on the Man-Thing's magazine is present on this, and even more. The eerie presence of the monster at the first chapter, the traps and the fight against the monster at the second chapter and the hollywoodian public appearance of the monster at the last chapter. Not to mention the guest characters and the amazing art of John Buscema.

Definitely, 5 stars.

Decent story, but The Thing should have spoken up or done something. Way to go Benjamin.

Yeah, I was disappointed in The Thing not sticking up for his beliefs.

I always enjoy Tony and Reed showing up as just plain industrialist and scientist in other titles.

While I agree with everyone that it was stupid for Benji to not tell Reed what he knows, you would think that Reed and Stark have enough experience with weird life forms that they wouldn't be so quick to put it on display.
That actually was a pretty decent trap they used to capture him, just too bad they really had no clue what to do with him after that.

They made Dr. Gavin out like he would be a new supporting character but according to the order he doesn't have any more appearances...

Solid story, but it didn't quite stick the landing. Ben not saying anything felt weird, and jumping straight from Mrs. Schist wanting to finish off the Man-Thing in NYC to Gavin releasing it back to the Everglades felt very sudden. It would have helped a lot if Mrs. Schist had more of an arc or resolution to her story.
