Nonsense.
It jumps right into a fight, without really telling anything about the new villain. So the reader isn't invested.
Later, as we find out - via lengthy flashback - what is going on, it's difficult to get past the absurdity of it all. Whereas a title like Doctor Strange can make the mumbo jumbo of magic seem plausible and coherent, this series can't disguise what it is. Utterly random and silly.
2/10

Amazingly, I enjoyed this mess of an issue--the ugly soul boogie thingies were kinda cool.

Topaz is probably the only interesting character in this series. It still sucks though.

They've been mentioning Lissa turning 18 now for a while.

I'm seriously skimming this title at this point.

He uses magic powered by darkness, so I get the "night" part of Glitternight, but the Glitter part really seems like a misnomer.
The werewolf regularly gets hisa**kicked by normal human beings, but here he goes all Hulk on a giant tentacle monster. Not sure that adds up.
Speaking of adding up, Mr Glitter is right. It is extremely fishy that he moved across the ocean into a cave within a quick walk from Buck's place. Almost as if the writer couldn't think of a good reason for them to randomly stumble upon him.

Doctor Glitternight is the bestworst name yet! I think it's his eyes that glitter, they glitter from black to white panel-to-panel.

Glitternight, really!? Glitternight is an activity that tween girls do, not a villian!
The only good thing about reading this is that I have only 7 issues of this crap to make it through now.

First off, "Glitternight" sounds a lot like Edward Cullen's grandfather or something. (If you don't know who Edward Cullen is, I envy you!) Second, using the "evil from Topaz's soul" to create some blob? Topaz is a real sweetie; no wonder the werewolf had such an easy time beating it! If you want to create an effective monster from someone's evil, get Dr. DOOM! Or Thanos! Or the Red Skull! Or even Gerry Conway! I'd offer my own soul, but all you'd get is that little guy from Fantasy Island that ran around screaming "De plane Boss! De plane!"

2 stars. Lissa's finally going to turn 18? She's been almost there for at least a couple of years now. How many people wished their senior year in high school lasted that long?

Think olí Gil is channeling Basil Wolverton for that cover?

Still bad, but at least it was gonzo bad, with magic and soul-snot monsters.
