RikerDonegal March 11, 2016Most of this is a battle, well two battles, with too much narration. Once you get passed all the words, it's enjoyable.
Highlights include Buck Cowan's low-tech way to defeat the main villain.
Beyond that the story of brother and sisters werewolves fighting to the death makes good reading.
Curious to see where this all goes.

Jack and his sister, both transformed and she altered by magic, fight each other in a remote castle as Glitternight goes after Topaz and the Spirit of Taboo. As they fight Buck wakes up and attacks Glitternight from behind, knocking him out. Jack defeats his sister and later, back as a human, finds her recuperating believing the night was just a dream. |

The first comment on the letters page was hilarious. I wouldn't want to be a Marvel werewolf because a 10year old with a pellet gun could beat it up. Priceless! No one respects the Marvel werewolf! |

From the remembrances that Jack is bringing up I'm starting to feel that the relationship between himself and Lizza as children was somewhat less than wholesome...
I definitely liked the design on Lissa better, she actually looks like a wolf instead of a monkey.
The surrounding cast was pretty useless throughout the entire comic. Even the bad guy's biggest moment was getting his head slammed into a wall. |

I was going to point this out too, I laughed so hard at the letter being like "who cant kick the wolf's ass I mean seriously!?" and yeah, the brother sister flashback quotes were a little creepy. But the real kicker for me was topaz and taboo having so much trouble with glitternight for most of the book and buck just covers him with a curtain and rams him into the wall. |

Yeah, the Taboo-Glitternight confrontation was pretty lackluster for all its build-up. Having Buck take him out was pretty lame and underwhelming. Guess Topaz still doesn't have her powers back?
But the sibling rivalry? That actually was pretty good. No holds barred, and I had a feeling it could've ended with almost anything happening. And her reactions afterward made this whole subplot with her interesting. I hope the demon part of her wolf stays with her, and she retains her rejection of reality.
3 stars. It surprised me that Jack actually held his own against her. |
