Issue Review

Surprisingly good in places. The monster and the robot make a likeable duo, even if the monsterís speech pattern is annoying. The battle is forced, but the final twist implies that the writer has an interesting story planned. 6/10

According to the letters page, they made some drastic changes to try and save this pathetic book, but this issue is a total "F**k you!" to the readers. It's no wonder there was no issue #19.

The monster is supposed to have the brain of a genius, yet when he gets his voice back he talks like a complete moron and seems to get progressively more stupid with every panel.

After this and Man-Wolf it'll be nice to finally read some issues that aren't canceled in the middle of a cliffhanger...

Isn't this technically the "last descendant" of Frankenstein over the course of his appearances? Oh well, good riddance to bad garbage.

So they leave it on a cliffhanger, with two direct descendants of Frankenstein running around, one in which we never see again? Are we going to find out more about I.C.O.N.? I enjoyed the story, but if we don't get answers than I wasted my time.

One more monster book bites the dust, and I am SO happy to be done with this particular ugly mess. Remember back when this "promising" series debuted? Oh how little we really knew.
And the monster has a third look in this issue. It is off model from the one that was already off model. Is it just me or does he look like the Zombie now?
There are so many "last" descendants of Frankenstein. I wouldn't be surprised if there were another couple dozen or so waiting in the wings.

A last descendent of Frankenstein that gets replaced by another one who might as well be the same person.

I.C.O.N. must not have had the budget to keep trying to take over the world. Maybe they got bought out by A.I.M.

They sure messed up really bad at drawing Hulk in this one...

Hooray! It's over! Like a bad nightmare, let the memories of this terrible series fade away.

  Russ Says:
  2017-12-25 07:46:57
Well, they just don't make Hulks like they used to. And on that note, this series mercifully comes to an end.

1 star for this story, and a grade of D for the series. It started out well enough, but once the setting was changed to modern times, this essentially became another Hulk clone. And it recycled the same story over and over.

We'll see Frankie in a quick arc in Marvel Team-Up, but this cliffhanger won't get resolved for awhile, in Iron Man's mag! Guess they drew straws and Tony got the short one.

Wow. Just wow. Did Tod Browning know about this issue?

Great ending to a great series! (sarcasm locked and loaded)

two stars (mostly from relief)
