Issue Notes

Not technically a flashback, this is a filler issue that is presumed to be slightly in the past, prior to Iron Man's current story arc.

A creepy house on a stormy night makes an unusual setting for an Iron Man story. Itís fun. Twist doesnít quite work, but itís a fun story. 8/10

The only thing that keeps this from being a total slide into Silver Age silliness, is that the fact that the villain is a chick.

A bit campy but easily the best Iron Man issue in quite a while. I've always loved the old dark house stuff. It also didn't hurt any that just 3 days ago I spent midnight on a mountain just outside of Clearfield, PA.

What's with the cat? Future hero? :P

The art in this saved it from a 1 star rating.

Dear god, please just bag the cat and forget Zero ever happened!

Wow. I can't believe that I just read that garbage. I am glad these "flashbacks" are over.

I guess if you're going to interrupt your regular story-line it may as well be with something absolutely terrible and foolish. From the tree falling on and destroying the only vehicle that appears to be around for miles, to the moronically named Murder Mountain Lodge, to the menacing assistant that is suddenly without a shirt for no reason, this was just one contrived plot point after another.
I can understand that the writers messed up on how evolution works, as it is a complicated subject and the miracle cure-all of radiation was involved. But how do you mess up on how wires work? Why would a cable leading to a door to open it getting chewed possibly cause other doors to open instead?

A 2 month interruption of the storyline. Well played.

I guess the cat is the earlier women with the gold tooth.

That Professor and the Red Ghost would have been the perfect couple.

Must have been a Silver Age holdover script; it was plenty cheesy and silly, alright. A good number of cringe-worthy moments: "Murder Mountain"? Seriously? And a cat that knows what wiring to chew through? The artwork is typical Tuska, too.

Well, it was entertaining if you set your expectations to the appropriate level. 2 stars.

Not to mention, Iron Man #76 was a reprint that interrupted the arc after the second part.

Say what you will about Jim Shooter, THIS is one of the reasons he was made Editor-In-Chief. Whenever a comic book misses a deadline, Marvel has to pay a penalty to the printer. (I think the worse one was when Martin Goodman had to play the "Happy Birthday Game")(Sorry, WB cartoon joke there.)

This wasn't the worse IM story we've read in the Order so far. It's saved by the fact a cat is the hero.

Two stars, though, is all I can give it.
