Issue Review
   December 9, 2014
The Frank Robbins art is still too cartoony for me, but this is a decent enough action-tale that brings the Falcon backstory story arc to a conclusion. Some of the dialogue is unintentionally funny, but itís an interesting story nonetheless. 5/10

I feel like almost anybody who appeared in this issue could take out Stilt-Man alone, no problem. He clearly wasn't the man for the job.

Yay! We have a Stilt-Siting! The Hollywood gangsters seemed pretty bad-assed, why in the f**k would they hire Stiltsy?

Failure must've been part of the plan if they hired the Stiltster...

Stilt-man, Frank Robbins, Bill Mantlo... with this losing combination no way could this be a good issue. It lived down to expectations.

Not sure about Frank Robbin's art. It's pretty dynamic but also a bit too frantic in places... faces look weird, too. It's kinda hit and miss for me.

Also I thought that Falcon continuing to beat the crap out of Stilt-Man while he was begging for mercy was gonna make him look bad for his court case, but nobody even commented.

What is wrong with everyone's face? They all have those very long forehead that just can't be human! Frank Robbins is ruining this title for me. And Bill Mantlo bringing back Stilt-Man doesn't help a bit.

More complaining in the letters page about Frank Robbins. One more book to go before the Return of the King and I don't mean the Two Towers!

This loses one star because of the Contessa's ridiculous costume. It's bad enough to start a character off with an absurd costume, like Nightshade, but to take a character with a fairly reasonable costume and then put her into bizarre combat lingerie is even worse.

I hate the art in this book and the Silt Man as much as anyone, but it gets 3 stars for the line "You ain't kiddin' bro! You're ugly as sin!"

Stilt-Man's line on the cover may just be the biggest lie told in the Order up to this point.
How does Stilt-Man know what the assorted gadgets are that Trapster has? They're all made by either himself or the Wizard.
The trial turned out pretty much like I thought it would, but I really hope that Sam drops the "damn Whitey" attitude soon. Don't get me wrong, there was and still is inequality in the world, but you're not making things any better that way, especially not when you're doing it to the people trying to help you.

  Vancelot Says:

Cool ending and Fury saying that he had a rough, unshaven interior was funny.

So on the splash page, they're trying Falcon for "high crimes and misdemeanors"? What nonsense is that? As far as I know, the only thing that phrase is used for is it's the Constitution's standard for impeachment. Did Bill Mantlo just think it would sound good?

It's hard to find good help in LA. Way too many grammar and word errors in this issue. Marvel seems very stretched at this point in time.

I think this ish is a marvel first: first use of symbols in place of a curse word?

I really like the Falcon, so I enjoyed this issue despite terrible art, bad writing and Stilt-Man.

This wasn't as horrible as I thought it was going to be, given the low Order score and the fact that Robbins was penciling again. However, given that this arc was geared to change the trajectory of the series, namely the character of the Falcon, it still ended up pretty disappointing. I have to give credit though; this plot still feels like Steve Englehart's with Isabella finishing off his idea. It'd be too easy to discard what Englehart started if I'm right, but they stayed with it anyway.

I'm also giving Falcon a pass on beating Stilt-Man silly with nobody commenting. The guy had threatened Falcon with death and shouted it out nice and loud for everybody to hear; clearly, Falcon beating the snot out of him was self-defense. But yeah, it struck me that an underworld mob of mostly black guys would hire a D-list white nerdy villain for a public hit. Those guys must've been desperate and nobody else was around.

One quick word about the art: I agree Robbins is just awful, but a couple of panels of Redwing made him look downright dangerous and menacing. I have to admit I liked those.

3 stars, but a story of this magnitude should get a much higher rating. Really makes me wish Englehart would've at least stuck around long enough to finish the arc.
