Issue Review
   August 12, 2013
Basically a solo Beast/Hank McCoy story. And an enjoyable one, with an interesting dilemma. But the ending, with The Vision, is a bit silly for my liking. Honestly, guys, just inject the serum into him! The Vision's actions (while cool) seem needlessly dangerous. 7/10

I think Yellow Jacket should go back to the Defenders. They were actually impressed with him over there.
The addition of the Beast adds a nice element to the team.

I really enjoyed the Beast here. Not quite as good as the Amazing Adventures days but enjoyable!

Thor was sure overjoyed at the end!

The Beast steals the show here. He is a very welcomed (and funny)addition to the Avengers line up. When the Hawkeye subplot finally circles back around, I hope these two remain on the team for a bit. I want to see what kind of interaction these two might have.

Isn't Hank Pym the Visions grandfather?

Well I don't know that it's that simple any more. Pym created Ultron, who merged the mental imprint of Wonder Man with the android body of the original human torch. So I dunno if you can call Ultron his "father" any more than you could say that for the scientist that created the Torch or Papa Williams.
How did the Avengers ever survive before Beast joined their ranks? You'd think he'd be a bit more leery of using untested formulas on his friends considering that last time he did something like that he ended up with a bad case of the blue-furs.

Minus one star for Vision punching chihuahua-sized microbes.

I was about to say.....(Part 1): In all the time Janet's been in a coma, where the heck was Dr. Blake and one of his miracle operations that'll make everything right? But I guess he didn't want to step on that other doctor's toes. Professional courtesy and all that.

I was about to say.....(Part 2): The Beast running off in the midst of Hank's crisis at first made me think he saw that mysterious woman from last issue. Nope, he was just trying to play scientist in order to save Hank. It's weird how he managed to create a serum to solve Hank's microbe problem years before he actually needed it.

Of the two new Avengers, it's kind of odd how Thor and Iron Man have been shepherding Moondragon, while the Beast has pretty much just settled in on his own. If he's not an official Avenger he might as well be. He's been awesome so far! Face it, the Avengers need this former X-Man on their team.

3 stars. Nice shout-out to Avengers #93, Hank Pym's finest moment. And the Vision having a chance to repay the favor.
