Beautiful art and a story filled with questions. Shang Chi's outsider status is perfect for an espionage series. And his commentary on all the madness elevates the quality. 8/10

-SKANG! This was interesting and I'm still enjoying Gulacy's quirky but detailed pencils.

I love Gulacy, but he really needs to decide whether Reston or Larner is played by Sean Connery or Marlon Brando.

I was hoping for a fight between Chi and Smith.

I hope Shang-Chi quits all this espionage stuff after this. He needs to start walking the earth or something.

I like Gulacy's art, but at times it reminds me of Rob Liefeld. The legs are so thin and seem to disappear.

Good story, decent art, but I'm getting kinda sick of Shang's "Oh I can't do this any more. Oh okay I'll go do this again." To give the excuse that he wouldn't know who's at his back, after he's had Fu Manchu's organization after him since issue one, is just silly.
Not sure that they've earned the whole Leiko love thing yet either. That seemed to kind of come out of nowhere. Sure they had a thing, but they barely ever see each other, and I don't think we've ever even seen them not in a work situation.

I'm also liking Gulacy's pencils. Even if his sense of perspective is distorted at times, there are occasional flashes of Steranko's influence here and there. The story was a bit meh; the whole "I won't; okay, just once more" schtik is starting to wear thin. It's dragging down the whole Agent of K.U.N.G.-F.U. direction that hasn't been too bad a concept so far.

3 stars. Oh, and Leiko, don't count your boyfriends before you're dating 'em!
