	Sweet Fancy Moses! This was a long frickin' comic. Well intentioned, it seemed to ring a bit hollow at the end. Maybe it was just a "Quantam Leap" of faith.

	Yeah, the ending was a little corny, but the ride was awesome. And the pin-ups at the end were a blast, too. I read somewhere that Kirby lost it and was just going through the motions when he returned to Marvel, but I ain't seeing any signs of it.

	Maybe a bit too long, but definitely also one of the best Kirby-issues in the 1970's.

	"And so Captain America finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home…” Wasn't bad, but let's face it, Kirby hasn't made it out of the 60s yet. I could have seen this being used as one of Cap's first Silver Age stories to help readers get to know him, and it would have fit in much better. When it started out with defeating the Nazis and then creating the flag I was expecting this to be so much worse than it was, and while it still is largely sanitized and oversimplified, at the very least they did try to show some of the darker parts of America's past.

	Oh boy. This was long, pointless and boring. What a waste. And why couldn't Cap simply remove his glove?

	Now that was one long ride. The only thing that was missing in these 77 pages was John Phillip Souza playing us out on the final page! I thought this was meant, in many ways, to give a slight but concise lesson in history to the reader, as Cap might've seen it had he actually lived it. It wasn't bad, and kudos to Jack for addressing the less than ideal parts of American history (even if they were glossed over a bit), but outside of being an American celebration, the story didn't really do anything. Still, happy birthday, America; you don't look a day over 127! 50 stars. Err, not possible, so I'll just post a 3.
