Fast-paced fun read, with too many coincidences driving the story. Everything is drawn in broad strokes. But itís fun nonetheless. 5/10

Piss poor. Mantlo, why are you dredging up lame Silver Age villains?

I quite liked this one, at least partially because the 'monster'-dynamics between The Thing and ol' Morb were done well.

Green-skinned blondes are suckers for outcasts.

Couldn't really concentrate on the story, since I spent most of this issue trying to work out how they got that huge, solid slab of marble up the stairs, along the hallway and through the small doorway into Alicia's apartment.

Also, Alicia is very cavalier about letting a known murderer free to kill again. Morbius must release some kind good judgement interfering hormones.

Man I really don't like Morbius. I'm glad Ben Grimm called him on his need for blood, which makes him a murderer. Morbius is such a self righteous character full of bologna.

Not very good. Bring back old and lame characters isn't ideal, but this Eraser character has potential to be a formidable foe. I doubt he will ever get there though.

I wish I could erase this issue from my mind...

  Johnny Darkness Says:

SPOILERS: This issue was hard to read, and not just because it sucked. The ink in my copy was all blurry. But anyway, I know Alicia is endlessly kind, but she was way too quick to be on Morbius' side after he tried to kill her. The villain sucked, the dialogue was horrible. But there was one thing I really liked: Morbius trying to suck Eraser's blood, to Ben's utter dismay, and to my surprise.

  Johnny Darkness Says:

Also, there was a letter from Paul Dini. Could it be THE Paul Dini??

Um... don't those eraser gizmos send things to Dimension Z? So isn't that where Morbius sent himself, despite saying he wouldn't go there?
Uh, yes Morbius, Ben Grimm is better than you. He doesn't murder people to keep himself going. Yes you're both "monsters" on the outside, but you're the only one that is also one on the inside.
I'll also add my hat to the "Alicia's a moron" ring for this issue. There's a difference between "Ben don't kill him" and "Ben, just please let the serial killer go."
I can't even manage to get worked up about the Eraser being a terrible villain, since he really served as nothing but a plot device to force Thing and Morbius to work together. You could have replaced him with any other form of dimensional travel and it would not have made much of a difference.

  grayrender Says:

I kinda lile the interplay between Ben and Morpheus, byt the inane villian with nonsense powers prevents this issue from achieving mediocrity.

  aliensummer Says:
  2017-12-23 06:13:43
Wow, Ben. Why don't ya quit being so self righteous and just let that poor guy murder whoever he wants by draining their blood? Talk about uptight!

Can't stand Morbius so far. He might be easier to empathize with if he was like the Dexter of vampires and only preyed on the evil. Or even if he broke into a hospital and drank the blood of people who were going to die anyway. But no, he has a definite preference for hot, young women. So, not only is he a murderer, but he's also a creep.

Really bad story, and it wasn't necessarily the Eraser that made it so. I'm also in agreement with everyone else about Alicia; letting Morbius go because she felt sorry for him for killing all those people? Her instincts are usually spot-on but not this time!

1 star. Ugly.
