Ending is rushed, but otherwise this is an enjoyable action-adventure yarn. With one dull co-star. 6/10

The Thing, talking to a gorilla in The Savage Land, references evolution before mentioning that "these days they say that man came from outer space an' not from apes." In context ping back to Kirby's work on The Eternals; yay Marvel!

This is at best a two-star story. However, it has BOTH Zabu and the Thing. Therefore, minimum three stars.

If there is ever a story that has the Thing, Zabu, and Lockjaw, I will be forced to give it five stars, even if it is written by Bill Mantlo.

It was highly unrealistic for Thing to swing around on vines. The Savage Land must grow them extra strong.

The villain falling to his death is not an ending? Oh, they were talking about the confusing volcanic eruptions plot. Couldn't that have just fell in the lava also?

I love the Savage Land... but I HATE Ka-Zar... sigh.

The first thing you should confirm when you're going to do a Savage Lands story is "Can our artist draw dinosaurs?" The answer here is an obvious no, because while the art was subpar overall, those prehistoric animals were just painful to look at.
For something that Reed is worried about causing the end of the world, maybe he should have sent all three of his fellow Fantastics, rather than just the one guy... the least scientific one, at that.
