Action-packed nonsense. Even though itís stupid, itís fun. But itís a kind of stupid that feels wrong for the CA of 1976. 3/10

That was a dreadful, painful slog to get through this Captain America run. Kirby was a fantastic artist, but at his point he is utterly incompetent as a writer.

This Kirby run is dreadful, but I'm fascinated by it. Are there any good online articles about this period of Marvel? Particularly these Captain America comics. I'd love to know more about the behind-the-scenes on this. How/Why it happened, and why it was allowed to continue. :)

Actually, Kirby is incorrect. A society formed by mental patients living an institutionalized lifestyle is not unprecedented. Congress has been doing that for a long time.

I agree with all the negative things everyone else is saying EXCEPT about Texas Jack. For some strange reason I find that character hilarious and am glad to see that he is literally the only thing out of this run that sticks around in the order after it.
