Issue Review

A basic villain-attacks-hero-to-get-revenge story. No surprises but it works well enough. Hard to fathom why Johnny and Ben are trying so damn hard to revive a dead villain, though… 6/10

-So The Torch "freezes" Blacksun by creating a super-heated thermal shield around him? *scratches head* Wow, man...Dave's not here...
-Interns: The Red Shirts of the medical profession.
-Seth reminds me of Ser-PEN-tor!

I am no scientist, but Human Torch's logic doesn't seem all there to me. Shouldn't Seth know there is more out there than just Earth and Asgard? Idiot.

Marvel is almost as bad as Southern Baptists with their understanding of science.

Doctor Donald Blake, next issue (presumably): "Why is this man burned to the bone? Who thought this would be a good idea."
So a rock monster, a burning man, and a godling team up to fight the leader of Cobra and his army of rejects from the old Sinbad movies. Yup, that actually sounds like fun.
I have to imagine it's pretty much impossible to book a surgery with Doc Blake. "I'm sorry, we can't book you for next week. The good doctor may go missing for months on end again at any time now."
It was very confusing that when they had Seth disguised that he looked pretty much exactly like Blacksun.

  Marvel brainstorming room, 1976:

-- I'm really confused about fire.
-- What do you mean?
-- Is it supposed to be hot or cold? I can never remember!
-- I guess it could be both? Like it starts hot, but if it gets REALLY hot, it becomes cold. Or something like that.

I am picturing something closer to the stoner scenes from That 70's Show, except with LSD and shrooms thrown in.
