(pleasedonterasehermemorypleasedonterasehermemorypleasedonterasehermemory...) He's going to, isn't he?

Odin has a "father's heart"? Hahaha that was a good one.

  FREAKINGFINALLY.

That was my reaction to this issue, at least, After reading so many comics in the order, it's hard not to grow a bit weary of the whole secret identify bit. It's so nice to have someone finally reveal their identity. Hopefully her mind isn't wiped or something.

As for the issue itself, I've found that that Thor has become one of my favorites.

Weakest Thor story in a while. Nice to see him finally reveal his identity to Jane though.

The bit on the street at the beginning is very silly and quite fun.

Also, Odin is a real jerk.

The scene with Thor and the little girl was nice.
I'm totally disappointed that Thor would even consider not going into battle because Jane doesn't want him to.
All the stuff Loki has pulled and this is what ticks off Odin.

It's odd that the only hero that has a legitimate reason to hide his identity from the women he loves is the only one to reveal it to her. Why can't the other heroes tell the women they love, if they love them they should trust them enough to tell them.

Ula has some amazing hair in the backup story; Queen Amidala eat your heart out.

Odin is seriously annoying with his "you've forsaken your HERITAGE by talking to that mortal woman!" I mean, why does Asgard care about secret identities, again? Odin just doesn't like the idea of his son fraternizing with a lesser race. Shades of 60s commentary about miscegenation from the Marvel bullpen?

Speaking of miscegenation, the Demon is a "shaman" from somewhere in the steppes of Central Asia, wearing a mask that looks to have been cribbed from African or Pacific Northwest indigenous styles... and of course he's called the Demon, a pretty Euro concept. What a... multicultural?... villain?

Man is it good to finally get back to some Thor! Going through the order I'm constantly surprised at how great a comic Thor was. Even though nothing much happened in this issue, I was still engrossed from the beginning, and pretty much tore through this issue faster than anything not titled Fantastic Four or Spider-Man. And I'd like to add myself to the chorus of people cheering the fact that Thor outed himself to Jane.

Since I never read early Thor before starting the Order, reading these now is quite enjoyable, especially after the previous 4 issue run of Daredevil.

Coletta's skecthy inking almost ruins Kirby's glorious artwork. Almost.

Hopefully Thor revealing his identity to Jane will not be undone (please - no amnesia!).A nice change from the stale secret identity issues in other comics of the time.

Another Herrcules matching should be fun. He's a great character, and one of the few how matches up well as an opponent to our hero.

He did it! He finally did it! Please dear Odin... Please dear Flying Spaghetti Monster... Please don't let Jane get amnesia! 3 stars for no action yet a great secret being revealed.

I was going to give it 2 stars, but it gets an extra star for Queen Ula's sweet honey dippers!

Alternate - I wish they would of kept the Demon a good guy. When we first met him he found the Norn Stone and wanted to use it to fight the bad guys. It would of been better if Thor had the dilemma of being task to retrieve the Norn Stone, or let the Demon keep it to fight the good fight!

No Prize - When the Demon attacks the 1st village he is barefooted, but when he knocks the boulder back at them; he's wearing boots!!!

Puree - The Stone Hive of Thryheim looks a lot like a giant mixer!!

'Nuff Said - "Move along! Aintcha ever seen a Thunder God before?!!"-No Nonsense Copper

From the Order, it had been a long time since Thor was actually in a story. A refreshing change of pace, even though it was mostly just a setup issue.

It's been so long since we had a "Thtory" (Thor story - patent pending), I had to go back and brief myself on the previous issue to remember what was going on!

And lo and behold we get a HUGE reveal of Thor's identity, with relatively little fanfare. Wow!

I do like the reminder that in the 60s, Thor's long hair was something of a shock for people, back when most "long hairs" were seen as anti-establishment hooligans!

It's also interesting to see Odin's disdain for the "mortal female" considering where Jane ends up in the current (2015) storyline.

  • That's my line "My ad for a bank guard appeared in this morning's paper! I wonder if he... ? Oh, no! I... I hope not! I'm sure we could never afford him!" (Delusional bank employee) Haha! Hilarious! As if!

  • That's my line too "That reminds me... I'm due for a permanent at noon!" (Lady in the elevator) That humor never gets old!

  • The police officer really was lucky Thor was in a good mood when he approached him!

  • Great panel of Thor flying on page 4.

  • Good! Blake finally made a man of himself by revealing to Jane he is Thor. But boy, Daddy is not gonna like it! Also, how much do you wanna bet she'll forget all about it... again?

  • This is confusing. I thought the Gods of Olympus were on Earth, yet Zeus sends Hercules there!

  • Average story, but the funny intro, the big reveal and the artwork take it above average so 4 stars.

Merely a filler episode, but with a great and important reveal (if it sticks, of course)

Funny how they advertise with the coming of Herc on the cover and then he gets about 2 pages of the whole Issue/Story...

Also there was no real action in it...just the cliffhanger in the end with Thor trashing that door...speaks even more for a filler Issues...

I am still completely confused as to how a human doctor IS Thor. I mean Don Blake and Thor ARE two separate people. Don Blake clearly remembers growing up and becoming a (lame) doctor. We've seen plenty of child Thor stories. So at what point and for what reason did Thor get banished to a cane that transforms into Mjolnir and causes him to possess the wielder of said cane.

So confused...
