And the stubble re-appears. Man that's some fast growth.

Dr. Strange on the run, hunted by enemies at every turn, against forces more powerful than himself. This is what I was hoping for when I began reading this series. I really enjoyed the ongoing storyline arc over so many issues, culminating in this epic battle. Booyah!

The operation brain blast was very confusing. I didn't know really what was happening at first.

I think we've had enough villains already whose "super-powers" were the fact that they were geniuses. I can't even keep them apart in my head anymore.

Looks like the standard Marvel issue supervillain coming up. I wish they'd keep Shield out of the superpowers game.

This issue gets an extra star for Nick Fury walking around without a shirt trying to bang Imperial Hydra's daughter for 2/3rds of the issue...

Terrible story telling to end the Hydra arc. Also, terrible writing in this issue as well. Very disappointed.

3 stars for the 1st app of Mentallo and the Fixer!!! I always liked these guys through the years! I just wished they would of used Mentallo like the Fixer who went off like lighting!!!

Overkill - A powerdrive hammerhead sledgehammer...

Just Desserts - I like how Imperial Hydra got his!!!

Warning Shot - I luv how that one SHIELD agent warns them to halt, and then immediately shoots them!!!

Party Hat - Those scramble helmets need to be bigger!!!

'Nuff Said - "Hail Hyd...uhhhhh..."-Imperial Hydra

Great ending to the Hydra arc. 3 stars because the while brain bashing thing got a bit confusing. I see great things to come with Fury. I wish I got more into Fury and Shield back in the 90s.

Hmm, it seems Arnold Brown either dyed his ginger hair and moustache to grey since last ish, or an unseen time travel conundrum has occurred in which Arnold Brown has aged 30 or so years.

Along with Fury's fluctuating stubble, it makes for a - Good job Marvel!

That SHIELD agent firing the warning shots was later brought up on charges for firing blindly into a crowded street, wounding 3 individuals and causing a watermain break that shut down businesses in the street for a whole day. The economic impact was catastrophic.

Also like how Fury, the head of SHIELD, feels obligated to play coy with his underlings re: letting Agent H escape. Meanwhile, he never has anything but caustic remarks for anyone at any other time. Guy's a psycho, really. But a decent wrap up to this arc, so 3 stars.

TaoTaomona, Professor X's abilities are hidden from the world. He makes a real point of making sure people don't know he is a mutant. Kinda hypocritical vis a vis his mutant-pride philosophy, but understandable given the times. So I can buy that this may be SHIELD agents 1st encounter with such a power.

After the most recent run of contiguous issues this story seems random and out of place

Marvel has really made Fury out to be a man's man! Look at the guy, running around brazenly shirtless, stubbled, and hairy-chested, calling chicks "chicks" and putting his men in place, emasculating all in his path! The guy exudes testosterone on all levels! He had a shirt on at the end of the previous story, but he either got hot or he's putting on a strut for the blonde.

I liked the decoy ship that was part of Hydra's escape route!

I love how close to the modern SHIELD this is: finding people with abilities and taking them down while creating/harvesting the highest technologies ever

@CosmicCostello beat me to a response to @TaoTaomona's post, and @GroovyGolem, that's how Fury has always been if you go back and read his WWII mags. I like it in those mags, it seems appropriate, but I'm not enjoying it here. I also was wondering at what point he lost his shirt, and his behaviour around Agent G for Girl was just horrendous.

Interesting end to the story arc, with the two HYDRA goons not knowing the Secretary and Imperial Hydra were one and the same. Ironic yet poetic.

The next appearance of Agent Girl should be a good one.

  • That's my line "Keep those hands behind your heads, or you've just hailed your last 'Hail Hydra'!" (SHIELD agent)

  • OMG, what the hell happened to Dum-Dum's glorious whiskers?

  • How ironic that these two dumb Hydra guards won't listen to Brown, and that he cannot find a way to convince them that he's Imperial Hydra. Worse, how stupid of him never showing his identity to his personal guards in the first place!

  • Why on Earth wasn't Fury even aware of a project such as Operation Brain-Blast, the biggest thing SHIED has ever tried? Ain't he the big boss? Enquiring minds want to know!

  • Another unfortunate change in the artists. It's good to have Kirby at pencils, but Frank Ray's crude inking ruins it.

  • A mind-reader and another corny genius joining forces? That is one story I'm not particularly looking forward to! I mean...the most dangerous guy in the World? Really?!! Oh, Fury, don't be such a drama queen!

  • I found this filler story rather boring. 2 points for the world's worst daddy biting the dust.
