Herc: hmmmm, wait a minute this contract say that I'll become ruler of the underworld.
Pluto: ummmm, that is just part of the movie. sign it anyway.
Herc: Okey Dokey!
Pluto: I win!! hahaha!

I just love the marvel "let's pretend to have a movie" supervillian plot.

Odin decides to punish a merciless usurper with a joke penalty of "now you're king... of some ugly Munchkins!" Oh, Odin with his Alldad Jokes.
Volstagg has lost some weight since that time when Odin sent a ship full of Asgardians to tangle with some flying Hive Trolls and then was like "Psych, come back for this crone's lecture, I just thought you guys were lazy." In other news, Falstaff wants his assonance and girth back.
Hercules regrets lusting after fame instead of saying "Hercules needs not (whatever)" in an imperious manner.
Thor lays in bed and shoots some fish, who get really mad.
Baldur wears his best Tauntaun costume, but can't get Thor to cut him open and crawl inside.
Jack practices his "Old Gods give way to New Gods!!" routine in preparation for the 70s.

Thor has a bed that's shaped like a boat...what he is like 8 years old..?!?
You mean this agent can't tell that Hercules is really the son of Zeus by now..?!?
Terrific art in this Thor story, Kirby has outdone himself.
I loved the ice fishing scene.
The Thor story was very entertaining...Hercules seems to make the stories better.
I liked how Tales Of Asgard explained Ragnarok.

4 stars for deceit, trickery, swift punishment, great story and another nice fight scene. The Ragnarok story was good. I'm getting into Thor, which I never thought I'd say before.

4 stars for the puzzling Pluto!!!

Cover Me - Another King Kirby Klassic!

Charon - @marvelcomicslover: That bed must of gave him nightmares as a kid. It looks like a death barge!!!

Rock 'N' Troll - Although we won't see Seidring again; the Rock Trolls will come and go like a rolling stone...

Hippo - She must be the Goddess of Dirty Love since she is wearing knee pads...

Name Dropping - Nice of the agent to mention Steve Reeves as he played Hercules in a movie!!!

'Nuff Said - "I-I'd better go re-read the contract!"-Agent to the Gods

Has there ever been a team-up title called "Fortunate Sons" starring the mad-cap adventures of Thor and Hercules? If not, there should be. I'd read it!

Most of you have already beaten me to the punch, especially regarding the sunglasses, the tauntaun costume and the Steve Reeves namedrop, so I'll just say that for once I didn't find Colletta's inking so bad. I wonder if Kirby threatened him at the watercooler to shape up his act.

As for Ragnarok, it figures that it's Loki's fault.

Hercules is getting around! After his entertaining guest star in Astonish #79, he's back and learning the first lesson upon dealing with mortals: always read the fine print!

I agree with @GroovyGolem (like that username, by the way) that Herc should've gotten his own feature; he's probably the best written character (other than Spider-Man) at this point.

And Seidring? He now rules a bunch of trolls? Now we know who to blame for all those offensive and derogatory forum posts on websites.

I always knew Herc was dumb, but to have read the fine print and even then put his thumbprint on it. Geeze.

With his rock troll minions, Siedring promptly conquers the internet.

Yeah, but a badass boat! With a gargoyle on top! I just love it! And I'd sleep in it!

  > ...he's back and learning the first lesson upon dealing with mortals: always read the fine print!

Well, technically he was dealing with an immortal. Good one about Seidring, BTW!

  • That's my line – "He hath tottered at the brink of the eternal sleep, my Lord Odin... but, the glowing strength of his limbs, coupled with the matchless courage of his spirit, shall surely restore thy princely offspring to thy bosom, Sire! (submissive royal physician)

  • For once, I like the punishment Odin chose. Also, the Rock Trolls don't look bestial at all. Here, they are rather portrayed as... Minions-like insignificant little creatures! "Bello!"

  • Thor on a fishing trip, all dressed in fur with his best buddy Balder. So cool!

  • Thor's recovery, in relation with Hercules's sub-plot, seemed a bit rushed. These can't be happening on the same time span, can they? I mean, Thor went from near death to kickass full-powered fighting God in the time it took Hercules to have dinner over a contract.

  • Speaking of which, it appears that all it takes to sign an Olympian contract is a greasy thumbprint! No ink necessary!

  • I would never have thought, but this series has become my favorite, after Spidey and the FF. Kirby's art was breathtaking in this one! I just love his full-page panels. And I'm just fond of stories with Hercules in them. Even if it felt a bit like a filler, it was a very enjoyable read. 5 stars.
