My favorite issue of Thor in quite some time. I like how almost all of it takes place in Asgard. Also, Volstagg is genuinely funny.

I enjoy it as one long Tales of Asgard Special.

Fun issue, but I'm pretty sure that's not how the Destroyer is suppossed to work.

maybe it was my mood, but this just didn't really do much for me like previuos modern asgard stories usually do....... The Destroyer seemed to be completely different........

Great annual. Lots of fun. So, Heimdall is in eternal vigilance on the bridge. And in spite of his being all-seeing and all-hearing, we've seen him let Loki pass at will by such simple ruses as transforming into a bug. The only person we have seen him actually deny access to is Thor, on several occasions. And finally a true danger threatens, and Heimdall has his back turned wishing he could be at the ball game and is beaten down almost before he could draw his sword. Might as well have Volstagg guarding the bridge. At least he might alert someone to danger by screaming in terror.

I really like this longer Thor story. Lots of action and dumb laughs.

Really liked this, only complaint is that Loki is still banished. 4 stars for the Destroyer.

If Loki could bestow his own life force into the Destroyer, why then did he need the hunter to do it last time?

4 stars for the Tournament of Titans/Champions!!!

Father Sky - Odin rockin' a sweet Native American Headdress!!!

Absorbing Man - Poor guy, only shown for one panel.

Ol' Faithful - Funny scene of old man Odin rambling on....

Brothers In Arms - Why were these guys never used again?? They would of been great foils for Thor & the Warriors Three!!!

World Of A Thousand Galaxies - Now, that's something you just don't see everyday...and if only we could of have seen it!!!

Splash - Great image of the Destroyer rising!!!

Beast Of Burden - I luv the look that Volstagg's horse is giving him!!!

Let The Games Begin - Great idea of gathering the realms together for sporting events! I just wish it was fleshed out better. I want more challenges and to meet more contestants!

Golden Realm - I would be pissed at Odin, because his gold looks a lot like ugly mustard yellow!!!

'Nuff Said - "Let me still his mouth with my pounding mace!"-Hogun the Masochistic

That was fun. If Odin is that powerful, why did he struggle so much fighting trolls a few issues back?

This was a great issue, for all the reasons so eloquently mentioned already. Volstagg's scenes are always great, but that scene of him strapping the pillow onto his butt was hilarious!

I love how everyone mentioned how wise and all-knowing Odin was... The Odin who was so wise as to make an all-powerful force indestructible. His excuse? "At the time it seemed like a good idea."

And finally, how awesome was the line "a trillion thought years to the northernmost perimeter of non-space"? There is not a single bit of that making any sense whatsoever!! I love it!

I really wish the Warriors Three could've gotten their own series.

I feel that I disagree with the sentiment here: I could do with a lot less Volstagg for a while...

I liked the build up, but sometimes the gods' powers seem a bit excessive and contradictory. Like Loki's power of thought. If he has that power, why use a guy to control the Destroyer last time? More bothersome though, if Odin can banish the Absorbing Man and Loki, why not just similarly banish the Destroyer? Or if he has the power to stop time, how can he ever really be in any threat? He could just pause and dodge the Destroyer's visor blasts. Oh, and the visor design...? That'd be a fail.
