I'm really surprised, cause I don't like very much Thor and his Asgardian adventures, but I enjoyed his fight with Ulik and the whole concept of war. I hope that I'll see soon some villain who has better luck with Thor and especially Odin. Allfather is so powerful and arrogant that I'd like to see him beaten.

  It's nice because now it isn't a Thor's fight, for a change.

I had no idea Hogun wasn't raised in Asgard. Now I'm really curious to learn more about him.

Why the hell would the king troll stop the fight just as it looked as if Ullik was about to win?

Stan introduces a strong female character, almost the equal of Thor, and immediately has her kidnapped and made helpless. Two steps forward, one step back.

like Mr. M said, I'm usually not into Thor, but this is possibley the best title in the order right now...... the Asgard/troll war is really out there stuff..... such a change from everything else going on at the time...... and Sif is finally a kicka**female character..... yes she gets captured but even then it is commented on how fierce she is...... and Ulik was pretty cool too.....

  duncanm Says:

We finally get a strong independent woman who is the match for any man, and she is immediately captured. Dammit Stan!

And I dunno, I think Sif's "naked power" would be superior to Thor's.

Ulik appears to be about to kill Thor, but the troll king teleports him to Earth, to get Thor to leave...um...okay.

I'm disappointed how Sif goes from warrior maiden to damsel in distress in the next issue after her reintroduction.

Lame, Sif instantly becomes a damsel in distress. Why did they even get rid of Jane Foster?

Indeed. It penetrates deep into Asgardian territory.

Troll-Asgard War is picking up some steam here. I'm actually looking forward to the next Thor comic.
I like Thor and the Warriors Three. I like how they always have each others backs. It was nice to learn a little bit more about Hogun in this story.

Please, Thor, keep talking about how you used to bounce Sif on your knee. It's not at all creepy.

  TheAmazingGatorMan Says:

I was thinking the same thing, specialque. I think this was kinda common in the 60s. Dino, from Sgt Fury, met a 16 year old in one of their battles and he promised he'd return to Italy for her. That's creepy in today's standards but must have been on back then.

Great story and the Troll/Asgard war is building momentum. 4 stars.

5 stars for the 1st app of Ulik, Mogul, and the Jinni!!! Sad, that out of three great characters only one is used often.

Cover Me - Another King Kirby Klassic Cover!!!

Splash - Great image of the Ultra Uncanny Unlawful Ugly Ulik!!!

Listing - The Character Appearances list this as Geirrodurs 1st app, but he already appeared way back in JIM 101...

Berserker - Man, I haven't seen Hogun that worked up since that time when Asgard ran out of nachos!!!

Fashionista - I like Moguls look, except for his little booties....they have got to go!

'Nuff Said - "Ulik! For a lifetime have I heard thy name spoken in hushed, fearful whispers!"-Thor

This was excellent. I don't really see Sif as a damsel in distress, more of a hostage, which doesn't make her weak. It took a large group to capture her and the trolls even said she couldn't be tamed. Good fight with Ulik, and a real attack on Asgard that makes sense. Very nice.

Ulik was awesome. Love those pounders!

Thor shows his Asgardian pride with the "still thou art merely troll" comment.

And poor Sif gets roofied!

  Russ Says:

It's about time we had a good female interest for Thor that can actually keep up with him. Already the thunder god has forgotten about.......now what was her name? Jamie? Jean? Jerri? Joy?

And speaking of which, is there anything now really holding Thor to Earth, other than the Avengers? Dr. Blake essentially has no practice now, and his main love interest is gone.

I'm in agreement with MattzLad that Ulik is basically a troll-version of the Hulk. Seems unoriginal, but did he and Thor have the type of throwdown you read comics for. By the way, where's the Trolls' erstwhile banished leader, Seidring? He was sent there by Odin in Thor #128, which wasn't that long ago in the Order.

+ Ulik is a cool new character.
+ Thor got caught with his shorts down.
+ Cosmic Kirby troll army.

+ Geirrodur hatches a slick plan. It actually makes tons of sense; he knows Thor isn't going to be beaten with Mjolnir in his hand, and so sets him up at the expense of Ulik.
+ Thor is politically out-maneuvered. Barring the likes of Loki, we don't see this too often.

2 stars. I'm glad that the war is ramping up!

Trolls under the bridge! Are there Billy Goats Gruff in Asgard too?

Woah, that was out of nowhere! How's that for shooting yourself in the foot? If the Troll King had just waited for Ulik to kill Thor, wouldn't he then have had Mjolnir?
