I love how in the end the Mole Man just throws the cube away and rambles on about making weapons, shows why he hasn't come up with a better plan yet.

Good issue. I like the shot of strength that Hercules gives the group at this point.

this was a pretty good issue of avengers..... I liked all the connecting storylines...... this is one of the earlier order issues that shows why you need to read the whole order...... Namor, Cosmic Cube past story(captain america/shield), the captain america stuff going on at the same time as this, and you even need to know a little about Mole Man....... if you want to 'get' everything......

Seriously Marvel, how do you expect people to look at Namor as a hero when he's a jerk all the time?

Mole Man... Bwahahaha!!!! You had the power and you threw it away!

Surprisingly entertaining issue. Extra star awarded for Mole Man being an idiot.

And Wasp continues to be useless except on EXTREMELY rare circumstances. Upgrade her powers already!

Since when does the Wasp wear needles on her wrist? Previously she had an air gun or something like that which shot pellets. Wonder if they forgot that because it's pretty damn stupid to try and jab people with a needle.

3 stars for Fish Face vs. Hot Head!

Handy - I could use one of those Disintegrator Disposal Units at home!

Get Smart - So, we know that Natasha is taking old atomic sub prints to the commies, because Fury didn't want to give away new tech. But, what about the experimental jet she took also??

8 Seconds - I think Namor broke the record riding ol' Tornado the Torpedo!!!

Secondary Mutation - So, Namor can now detect and follow radio transmissions!!?? I guess, it's like when he talks to the fishes...

School Of Fish - Smart, of Namor to turn the Cosmic Cube into a pendant. So, that he doesn't have to hold it the whole time.

'Nuff Said - "BAH! away with it...I have no time to waste on worthless baubles!"-Mole Man

This had some nice fighting, but the art was inconsistent. On the cover, and at other points in the comic, Namor was built like a bodybuilder, not in others.

As wordy as Rascally Roy Thomas is, I do enjoy his broad use of the Marvel universe, what with interconnected storylines, cameos, etc. This issue was a good entertaining yarn, and pitting Namor against Hercules was a great idea!

It also made me realize how totally COOL it would be give Namor a cameo in an upcoming MCU film, exactly like his appearance here on the submarine's view screen. That would be such a great way to introduce him in the film... No back-story, no origin, just BAM! There he is wrestling with the military's torpedo, with someone saying "it's the Sub-Mariner!"

HOWEVER, that image of him "wrestling the torpedo" on Pg6/P2 was ridiculously phallic. Hopefully they wouldn't do that in the film. ;-)

And while I'm at it, "pearling someone's harbor" sounds dirty.

I enjoyed this issue. Hercules vs. Namor in a battle of egos!!

The art really hurt the first half of the issue, but Heck's much better with action scenes than dramatic ones.
