A fine, mind blowing ending to the Yellow Claw saga.

Much like robots, guns seem very out of place in a Dr Strange story.

The art just keeps getting better and better! Jim does it again! And the ending to Fury's arc was supreme.

The art has been a huge improvement for this title in general at this point..... the 4 page spread was very nicely done and great detail........

Yeah, okay. I definitely didn't see that ending coming for Fury's story. Hopefully that actually leads to something, rather than just being a cop out.

And with the Doc we go from giant snail, to giant robot, to now Godzilla. Not sure if I'm looking forward to, or dreading, what is coming next.

Steranko's art in this is phenomenal, some of the best of the order thus far, but look at some of the detail on Strange story, Dan Adkins ain't phoning it in either. The shadows on their faces, the ice bridge, the swirling vortex. Just a beautiful, well-drawn comic.

I love the art, and say what?! Doom playing chess with SHIELD as his pawns?! How. Flipping. AWESOME!!!!!!!

I'm loving the Order. I'm still trying to organize the comics I've collected so far and there are others I just can't find yet. Hopefully when I get to those issues, I'll have found them by then.

After last season, I'm not certain any game is a sure win. Good luck Saturday, my SEC brethren.

Well...that was an odd ending for a Fury story. Great art though.
Strange story was kinda boring. I liked seeing Ancient One again.

This issue has the best art I've seen in the whole order thus far. Steranko's 4 page spread, that panel where Fury curls his hand AROUND the panel edge, the crazy black and white effects...just amazing. And Adkins really upped his game. Creative panel layouts (inset panels in front of a background illustration?!) and some great attention to detail. Wow.

(And how did Val lose her clothes? Or is that just another way Steranko was ahead of his time?)

Fury: 2/5 Why? Oh why? It was going so well... What a terrible ending...
Strange: 4/5 Everything looks great again without giant robots in the way.

3 stars for this one issue destroying the American way of life! Back in '68 after reading it thousands of kids heads were exploding across the nation!!! Parents demanded answers!!!

The government blamed it on commies and air dropped millions of "Patsy Walker" comics behind the Iron & Bamboo Curtains! Teachers blamed it on Rock and or Roll and rounded up all the hippies! Brainwashing them into handing out Not Brand Echh comics to the youngsters of the nation!! The Clergy blamed it on the Devil and held nationwide Marvel comic book burnings!!!

The Vietnam War officially ended as both sides turn on, tune in, and drop out over the art of Steranko!!! The water cooler was invented just so coworkers could gather around something to talk about this issue! Al Gore went back in time and created the internet just so it could break over nerds conspiracy theories!!!

Cover Me - A very patriotic cover, and I'm not talking about the flag! I'm talking about Val in a one piece!!! Keeping GI's, Mechanics, and Machinists company during those long lonely working hours!!!

Spread - With so much going on with the four page spread; did anybody notice that Gabe is colored right!?

?Question? - When does Fritz von Voltzmann become Karl von Horstbadden???

Twist - I've read this issue a bunch of times and I still wonder if it was just a cop out, or just a simply amazing revel!? On one hand I liked all of the Yellow Claw's gadgets, locations, and troops. I really hate to see them go. On the other hand it's cool just to see DOOM being DOOM! Although, you would've thought he could of done a better job of fighting SHIELD!!

'Nuff Said - "So then, never let it be said Dr. Doom was a poor loser!"-DOOM

This was a long and not very good Fury arc story-wise, but this issue has the best art in the order up to now and probably for a long time afterward. Plus, I loved the ending.

Okay you guys have all beat me to the punch regarding Steranko's artwork in this one, so I'll just give s shout-out to the way he always draws Quartermain with that Hollywood smile in every shot. I love that.

And speaking of love... Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's costume... Wow. Just... Wow. She'd give Vampirella a run for her money!

I also dug that crazy moiré pattern on the Claw's suit on Page 5. So cool.

And what I really liked about this was how it showcases Doom as a behind-the-scenes schemer and plotter getting involved in international affairs. Contrast that with his earlier appearances in the Order, like walking around Peter Parker's neighborhood, kidnapping Flash Thompson!

Hey, I'd spy on Val in that costume anytime!

I've got to agree with everyone so far that this issue has the best layouts yet, I absolutely loved the 4 page spread! The ending with Doom was unexpected and somehow made everything right for me. It's books like this that keep me trudging through all the crap in the order so far (X-Men, I'm looking at you!)

I love Quartermain's smile too! Mostly because it makes me want to sock him in the face every time I see him. Great call!

  Urgat Says:

I loved that unexpected ending, mainly because I love Doom, but also because of one of the first mind-blowing twist in the order (at least for me) and the connection to the Marvel-Universe this gives (yes we had Cap...).
But also I like that this Arc is (hopefully) ended now. Only one Issue to go with this series...
