My gods, when Wasp complained about Hank not noticing her new outfit, with everything else that's going on, I had to momentarily stop reading and literally hold my head in my hands. And what's up with that outfit anyways? It looks like the Chinese paper armor they tested on MythBusters.
Yay, perpetual motion machines are possible with magnetism! The world's energy problems are no more!!
Magneto, your lies about wanting nothing but peace for mutants and humans are somewhat unbelievable when you call your group the Brotherhood of EVIL Mutants.
First part of your plan is to ask/threaten for veto power over the United Nations knowing they would have to turn you down? I look forward to your 2nd part of the plan wherein you demand 1 Zillion dollars from the world powers.
I'm really hoping Quicksilver is acting, and not really that stupid. Again, the group has EVIL in its name!

Thank god Ant Man's back for good. That whole "Giant Man/Goliath" crap was dumb as hell.

The Avengers have really been on edge since Cap left. Liked the double story with Herc as well.

So, Typhon put out the Promethean Flame by... moving his battle-axe through it??

These plot twists are awful. Pym having performance problems again, the twins joining up with Magneto again due to some bullshit reasons... Ugh

  SmokyB Says:

Pietro's as dumb as a post. Wanda gets hit by a piece of metal. Who's the man in the room with the control over metal?

Never mind Quicksilver, go with your prejudices.

Enjoying the Hercules story though.

  3 stars for Magneto...friend of the homo-sapiens!!!

Cover Me - Amazing cover of Magneto pulling the strings!!

Fizzle - @MattzLadd: But, it was a magical battle axe...

Size Matters - I agree with others about Hank. Being stuck at a certain height, or bickering with Jan is old news! Having the power to grow to a giant, or shrink down to the size of an ant is important in any battle!! It's a shame that the writers still think small, and not let their characters grow...

Infringement - Is Hank trying to get a piece of Reed's Unstable Molecule market with his Morphon??

?Question? - Is this not the same Magneto's Island from X-Men #4??

Magneto & Friends - It looks like Magneto is hosting a talk show (p8,p1)...

Soapbox - Is that supposed to be a real political figure in the UN on p11,p2?

Slowsilver - Sigh...I miss the old Pietro...so Magneto is about to take out a human with a microphone and it's okay!!??

Tartaro The Titillating - +1 star for a giant ape with horns!!!

'Nuff Said - "Stand aside, humans! Magneto comes...in peace!"-Magneto

Wow I'm finding these last few Avenger comics tough to get through. I can't wait till they get better stories and art.

  Durango55 Says:

Buscema's sketchy art is ill-suited for the Avengers.

  VenomousIntent Says:
  2015-08-18 17:39:44
I actually gave this four stars because, despite this issues flaws, there is a lot of tragedy. Herc is the last Greek God, Pietro is having an identity crisis, and Goliath is struggling with his help. Pym can't tell anyone because the group is already broken. News like that would just cause even more panic. There is definitely a lot of character development here.

  re: Magneto & Friends -
I like how Toad doesn't get a chair. It's like if Ed McMahon had to sit on the floor beside Johnny Carson's chair during interviews.

  zengosm Says:
  2016-03-17 17:21:28
I think this one was great. Pietro isn't dumb, he's being human. It's been building over time that he really isn't happy with the way he is still treated by humans, and Magneto was able to find and exploit that.

  Katryn Says:
  2016-05-26 05:53:55
In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics!

  GroovyGolem Says:
  2016-06-07 10:53:54
I still don't get why Magneto keeps Toad around... If nothing else, I guess he just needs a minion to berate. But what does Toad offer besides sycophantic ravings? Which Magneto chides him for every time he opens his mouth? If I were Magneto, and every time I tried to strike fear into homo-sapien hearts by uttering an ominous phrase, only to have it followed by "Yes Master! Yes! Strike fear into their hearts!" I'd be like "SHUT UP!! WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP FOR ONCE?!?" Which Magneto pretty much does. I think I have just proven my point. Q.E.D.

Aside from that, I agree with VenemousIntent that there's some good tragedy and plot development happening here. My problem is that when Roy Thomas takes over a title, in addition to furthering the plot, he insists on maintaining the existing tropes laid out by Stan ages ago, so in a way it seems like a step backwards.

  Russ Says:
  2016-10-16 20:55:12
Covering someone else's hit - @Duhhaag: not just Uncanny X-Men #136, but also Crisis on Infinite Earths #7.

Prodigal Gods - Hercules vs. Typhon in the Battle of the Banished! Like the Tales of Asgard, I wonder if one day we'll see a Tales of Olympus series.

The Evil That Mutants Do - I think Magneto's rocking a good plan here. Quicksilver was already affected by his treatment due to being a mutant that he believed the shot that hit Wanda was deliberate. Boy won't he be surprised when Magneto fesses up.

This Land is My Land - I doubt Magneto is serious about having a nation to call his own when he's set his sights on the entire world. But, a nation of mutants? The seed of an idea has been planted.....

Hard to Find Good Help Nowadays - Someone should just put Toad in a large pot of water and turn up the heat gradually so he doesn't feel himself being boiled alive! All the idiot does is jump around and snivel.

Round 1 goes to Magneto and the reconstituted Brotherhood. I bet we see the X-Men get involved before it's all said and done. And the Avengers just have Hawkeye, Goliath/Ant-Man and the Wasp right now. In the immortal words of Michael Stipe, a three-legged dog just has to learn to run differently, I guess.

I gave it four stars because Magneto's evil master plan actually worked here. Usually by the end of a 1960s comic, the master plan (even if planned by the Mad Thinker) has utterly failed. So this is new and refreshing.

  Leander Malurt Says:
  2017-06-23 11:01:04
A very changing ish. From the constant bickering of Goliath's (is he even Goliath now?) powers (I can really do without Ant-Man), to Quicksilver returning with Magneto. This is one of the endings that really gave me the feeling of despair. 4 stars, but please stop the Pym's powers-arc.
