Oh, Agent 13. You, Secret Agents, always force people to tell You something You could found by Yourself from a newspapper.

Killer Kelp?! Oh my, I don't remember seeing that on Jacques Cousteau.

Also, Cap doesn't want to bring along Agent 13 because he can't bring a girl on such a mission. Dude, not only did she just SAVE YOUR LIFE not 2 minutes ago, she smuggled a freaking briefcase FLAMETHROWER into faux-Baron Zemo's secret headquarters and blew up all his stuff. I think she can handle herself Cap.

Jeez, cap, get a room! There's entirely too much of Agent 13 and Cap drooling over each other.

I was thinking the same thing about 40s tech...... this thing can walk through solid rock..... how the hell did the nazis lose the war if they had stuff like this laying around......

Agent 13 is incapable of reading a newspaper? How long can she stay in the dark when the world knows he was rescued by the coast guard?
"Silence! I don't need to be reminded of my own plan!" Wow, how do we not see this pop up more often?
"You can't come with me, you'll die!" "But you're handsome" "Well okay, come along" To be fair though, she did just straight up kill a guy for you Cap.
It's one helicopter, why are the hovertroops firing in two different directions when they arrive.
I think He-man should be sued for using the Sleeper as the obvious design for Man-E-Faces.
And of course he's defeated by the power of love. *bleargh*

So this is where J.K. Rowling got the idea for how Harry's parents defeated Voldemort...

So the Exiles trained for 20 years and went down in seconds? Also what's with the red hat, it makes a great target. Easy to see.

3 stars for the 4th Sleeper being defeated by love...American Style!!!

Old Fart - I seriously doubt that Fury would know who the Lovin' Spoonful was!

Tropical Topical - You know for a bunch of Nazis based in Germany...they sure love their island bases off the US East Coast!

Tenders - Damn...that one poor Hover Trooper got racked big time!!!

Set The Mood - I recommend listening to Huey Lewis and the News "Power of Love" while reading this issue!

'Nuff Said - "The closer you come to me--the more it vibrates!"-Cap to Agent 13

This was ok. I never did like the Sleepers...they're just dumb villains.
The art has improved with Syd's help, some of the panels were excellent.

Earth...fire....wind, water, HEART! Not so useless after all.
Also, killer kelp and hover troops make me laugh.

Of course! The sonic key works off of emotions! How did they not figure that out from the beginning? It was the basis of all Nazi technology! And it's MY emotions that are the basis of me giving this a 1-star rating.

Doug Moench is in the letters page again (although they mangled his last name), giving high praise for believable characters like Cap (his fave) and Black Panther (his fave new character) over those with a bunch of super powers.

  GroovyGolem Says:
  2016-07-10 09:32:24
It's always great to see the Daily Bugle as the newspaper du jour, but they always fail to stick a little headline somewhere blaming Spider-Man for all of the trouble! Talk about missed opportunities!

The Red Skull looks like a muppet in that last panel.

And speaking of panels, that full-pager on Page 10 was da bomb! Literally.

I loved that bit where the Red Skull reprimanded the Exile flunky for the expository dialogue! "Silence! I do not need to be reminded of my OWN plan!" Classic.

And about those Exiles... A bunch of Nazi soldiers, caring for a bunch of infants on a deserted island? Sounds like the premise of a great sit-com!

And finally... "Agent Thirteen, now that we've defeated the Sleeper and saved the world with the power of our love, can I finally learn your real name?" "Oh Steve, my darling... Why complicate things?"

Amazing that between the Sleepers and the original Torch, robotics experts could build a better android in the 1930s and 1940s than the so-called experts in the 1960s. I tell you, nobody takes pride in workmanship today like they used to.

Interesting that Fury compared himself to the Lovin' Spoonful. What other group was he doing to compare himself to? Did YOU ever have to make up your mind?

Loved page 13 with Cap defeating that one hover troop. I had the theme song from "George of the Jungle" running through my head: "Watch out for that..." CRUNCH! "Ooooo.....tree......"

And Cap needs to stop complaining about not getting any time with Agent 13. The two of them going out and stopping the bad guys....THAT'S their dream date!

@Locust75: My choice for recommended listening for this story, especially the ending? Have to go with a classic here: "All You Need is Love" Because to defeat a Sleeper, love is all you need!

I think it's time they take their relationship to the next level.....by her telling him her name. 3 stars
