Why is the Cap story in Avengers better than in his own title?

It's disappointing that the most impressive woman in the Marvel universe at this time is one that doesn't even have powers (agent 13 in Caps solo comic) and the so called "super" women are idiots.

Just 2 stars for Cap reliving the good ol' days!!

Splash - Way better splash page than the cover!

Deep Thoughts - So, Cap normally collects his thoughts...standing behind tapestries!?

Time Paradox - @SmokyB: Remember DOOM originally left it at his castle way back in FF #5. The FF used it, but didn't take it in FF #19. Reed finally moves it to the Baxter in FF #23. Only to move it back to DOOM's castle for some reason before this issue...

No Prize - The placement of the last speech bubble makes it look like both soldiers are named Sam! (p14,p4) Also, in three panels Sam is used five times...

Winter Soldier - If only Cap & and the gang would've stuck around longer...

Redundant - Dr. Baron Zemo wants to steal the Allies drone plane. Even though he later leaves in a controllable V2 escape rocket!!??

'Nuff Said - "Besides, I've always wanted a first-hand look at the big one!"-Hawkeye to Cap

other than laughing when cap realizes halfway through that his plan is ludicrous and he asks himself why he did it, i did not enjoy this issue

You know, because Cap hasn't been torturing himself enough over Bucky's death, better go back and watch it one more time.

Yet another long-forgotten plot device resurrected by Rascally Roy Thomas! So Doom just leaves his old castles derelict after each defeat? I would have thought he would have moved back into this one after the Silver Surfer destroyed his other one. Head of State or no, it has to be expensive to keep building castles.

Also, I hate the term "Man Mountain."

And first appearance/use of the "Fastball Special!" Woohoo!

"I won't fail, Hank....I promise you! How could I be careless....with your very lives at stake?" A few pages later "What's wrong with me? Can't fight off this sudden feeling of drowsiness.....if only this episode of Game of Thrones didn't suck......" Oh Jan, you're silly!

So this is basically an expansion of the final adventure of Cap and Bucky as originally told in issue #4, adding a lot of details the original didn't tell. The part with Zemo wasn't all that bad, but the sequence where Jan caused the Avengers to materialize in the past....I thought that was really contrived and specific.

So, why wouldn't Doom have castles dotted around the globe. The guy's a despotic ruler with unlimited riches; of course he can afford it. I'm sure he's got a castle in every exotic far off spot he can: Latervia, upstate New York, England, France, Russia, downtown Pittsburgh, you name it!

So Cap wanted to know for sure if Bucky's dead. I know the guy's been tortured by that, but it seems a little OCD-creepy to me. Hasn't he been to a therapist to deal with survivor's guilt yet?

2 stars. The story was decent, but I have a hard time with Jan's little nap. Still, it appears to have set up the story in Annual #2 effectively enough.

I can't believe that castle wasn't transported brick by brick.

I thought Cap was found frozen with his uniform and shield? I feel story should always take precedence over continuity but that bugs me

As far as filler issues go that wasn't bad

Sudden drowsiness my entire a**

I think Mr. Buscema was taking a cue from Mr. Steranko on that Opening splash page.

At first I was afraid, i was petrified...

I did not want another retelling of a WWII Story even if it is one of the if not THE most important part of Cap's History

But in the End I did enjoy this time travel queit a bit. Mainly because the Avengers solidified and there was some action...
But I wonder, is not ANY change in History having an effect on the present (or future from that point of time (in the past))... There was this little nod to Avengers Annual (or 1968 Special as called then)...
