Establishes an improbable dilemma for the hero, gives him a pointless villain to fight and resolves his dilemma in ridiculous fashion. Sigh. 3/10

That was messy in every way.

Una is drawn with a tear coming down her cheek so often that I'm beginning to think that it's just some weird Kree tattoo.

Predictable, yet not terrible. Still the same old story. Can it get better please?

Ugh, what a steaming pile of garbage. Yet ANOTHER love triangle, a completely unsatisfying and rushed resolution to Quasimodo, "computer power"...this is one of the worst single issues I've read in a while.

This story was pretty lame but . . . I think what really drove me . . . crazy was Arnold Drake's excessive . . . ellipses which completely . . . ruined the rhythm of the story.

Ahh - when a reference to the '90s meant the 1890s.

Just 2 stars for more quirky Quasimodo. I wonder if the new powers he is using, are from cosmic residue when the Silver Surfer changed him?

Hammertime - I was hoping that Ronan would play whac-a-mole on Yon-Rogg's head!!

Red Eye - If the Cape is in Florida, then Quasimodo made it in record time from New York!!

Gay Ol' Time - Yeah, a town full of robots never goes well...

'Nuff Said - "Still looking for little green men, eh?"-Captain Marvel

Wow. This was horrible. Some of the worst Arnold Drake dialogue yet. Seriously... the guy just doesn't put sentences together according to accepted human standards. Case in point:

Quasimodo: All flee in the face of my mechanical minions! But there is no flavor to so easy a victory!

Mar-Vell: Never fear, you beauteous thing! I will put the zest back into your combat! In fact... I shall make the fray so toothsome that you will even savor your own destruction!

Horrible.

I did LOL at "Gay 90s Town". Especially considering the cover promised "The Coming of Quasimodo!"

So Quasimodo parties like it's 1899! Leave it to Mar-Vell to play the mean old crasher and wipe out a town full of robots.

Sure, the dialog was written as if Stan had taken a Xanax before sitting down at his typewriter, but the story concept was actually okay. I thought it was a logical-enough progression of Mar-Vell's situation, eeven if the solution presented was a little too neat.

Leave it to Quasimodo to try to off an alien being with a bunch of robots dressed in an early American motif. I think it's time he returned to ringing cathedral bells.

3 stars. A little better than the last couple of issues, and the character development actually inched a little forward with Una's discovery of Carol, but I still think the overall storyline is stagnating and some of the dangling plot threads need to advance or be solved soon.

Until the last couple pages, I couldn't decide if this was a 1 star issue, or a 5 star. There was a lot of stupid stuff (computer energy, Gay '90's town, etc.), but it was just so...silver age... it made it kinda fun.

Then that second-to-last page with Quasimodo's sudden defeat, and the mannequins being used to foil the virus plot.

Then it just wasn't fun anymore.

It's comic books like this that gave Mar-Vell cancer.

And for me, that little inch of character development is what is keeping this Issue from only 1*, also Ronan is always a half star.

Also I am wondering how Una could have survived so long among the Kree when all they demand is obedience and non-emotional acts...all she does is crying

  Russ @ Urgat (original post):

Una is still alive due to Yon-Rogg thinking with his hormones (or the Kree equivalent)

I was prepared to hate this because of the villain. But the first half worked for me.

Maybe Mar-Vell also has something to do with it, now that you mentioned Yon-Rogg's "manliness"... but still interesting facts
