I almost feel guilty for enjoying this one, as it was quite messy. But I still liked it, darn it all!

  Spider-Borg Says:
  2012-10-02 23:44:38
As far as i can tell, Spider-Man only appears as part of a "pin up" page. Maybe Peter Parker shows up in the story itself, but i'll probably wait to read this until i get around to reading Avengers

First rule of the Hank-Jan wedding, don't talk about the Hank-Jan wedding.

  Utumieli Says:
  2013-05-05 13:53:48
The most dysfunctional couple in Marvel Universe got the wedding they deserved. The groom in grips of scitzophrenia, and the bride knocked out cold by weddingcrashers from heck. Strange issue indeed.
I might add, thet despite Henry's words, its doubtful that the marriage is legal, if someone truly wanted to test it.

At The Gates of Dawn Says:

A boring wedding really. I hate the Ringmaster as a villain! I'm just not a big fan of Hank Pym it's all!

  leisch Says:
  2013-08-19 08:57:43
Wait, Yellowjacket said he killed Pym, but the group doesn't even go out to look for Goliath, just in case?? They just take him at his word. What the hell?!

Reed & Sue had every Villain in the MU attack their wedding, Hank & Jan get the Circus of Crime. How embarassing!

All Hank has to do is tell a judge that he was mentally ill at the time of the wedding and he's got his divorce when he wants it.

Don't read this because the X-Men are in it. They literally don't do anything or even say a word. I haven't been reading the Avengers, but I suspect this wasn't one of the best ones in the series.

  Anonymous Says:

Is this the dumbest gang of villains ever? Their plan was to attack a Wedding that had basically every super hero in New York.

  specialque Says:
  2014-12-04 15:19:04
Really annoyed that a z-grade group of villains attacked the Avengers during this wedding. Aside from that, I've come to the conclusion that Pym is insane. This guy's become like four superheroes with different names, and switches back and forth on a whim. Thing is, Jan is such a nutcase that they actually work as a couple.

  MattzLadd Says:

This was such a weird issue...but - good?

So, they're married now. And the domestic abuse is still to come...

  gloomyharvester Says:
  2015-03-02 22:38:12
So this whole time he was wearing his Goliath costume under the Yellowjacket costume. I bet he has his Ant-Man uniform under the Goliath threads. Hank is insane.

I've always wondered if the schizophrenia story line was a throw away idea or if it was a long term line. At this point in the Marvel order I don't think they were thinking that far ahead.

  Alex Daily Says:

  Locust75 Says:

3 stars for Groomzilla and the Wedding Crashers!!!

Rehearsal Dinner - Like everyone has already said above, this is one nutty story! Although, I'm surprised that the boys let Jan go through with it...you know, with her being just a silly emotional female and all...

Cummerbund - SHIELD provided security for Reed & Sue's wedding, but all Hank & Jan had was Fury! He even kept his shirt on!!!

No Prize - The Human Cannonball calls Gambonno...Gombonno!!

Tassels - I'd rather had Princess Python popped out of the cake!!!

Cat Eye's - The Black Panther's eyes turn yellow half way through the story!!

Cold Feet - So, why couldn't the Circus of Crime still of used the nitro against the Avengers?

'Nuff Said - "But, it was so totally unexpected...as if someone wanted to kill me on my wedding day!"-Blushing Bride Jan

  Katryn Says:
  2016-08-07 05:53:25
I like to think Jan figured out Yellowjacket was Hank pretty early on and took advantage of his schizophrenia (it's ok because he got better) to finally get him to the altar! Took bloody long enough.

  GroovyGolem Says:

I love how the wedding invitation said "Miss Janet Van Dyne and Yellowjacket." And it had his picture on it.

I'm still trying to reconcile the Black Knight invitation with Avengers #55 and Marvel Super Heroes #17.

I also like how the X-Men are just keeping to themselves in the corner of the pin-up page, except for Cyclops who's skulking around in the lower-right.

Wanna take bets that Dr. Strange called Victoria Bentley to ask her what sort of a formal dress he should get for Clea?

Nice to see Spidey got an invitation this time and didn't have to sneak a piece of cake from outside the window.

And why, just WHY, didn't Jan clue in the other Avengers about Hank? Sheesh.

  Russ Says:
  2016-11-05 20:52:31
I'm starting to find it amazing how certain chemical concoctions are affecting various characters. There's the psychosis-fueled strength of Norman Osborne, and now the split personality of Hank Pym. After this story came out, junior chemistry sets all over the country were recalled from toy stores en mass.

I'm agreeing with other commenters who were puzzled at the fact that nobody thought to go look for Goliath after Yellowjacket's story. I guess dealing with Jan's upcoming nuptials had them in a bit of shock. But if domestic events like weddings makes Avengers act weird, I'd hate to see when a female member gets pregnant!

A couple of other notes:

- Oh boy, once again, the Circus of Morons. Hawkeye should be maga-embarrassed for being taken out so easily by them.

- Where did Captain America go?

- If wasps and spiders are natural enemies, why did Jan invite Spider-Man to the wedding?

3 stars. I think we finally have another key component in Hank's later mental unhinging introduced here. And, for the first time anywhere, here's the poem he used to finally win her heart....

Roses are red, violets are blue
I'm schizophrenic, and so am I!

Had to come back and review this one before reading the next issue much later in the Order. There's something very creepy about that very last panel.

Freud would have a field day with Hank Pym.

Ok this one gets a solid 3* was not bad, but also not very good. (3* is always my starting rating)
It gets one star for all the guest appearances and cameos. But why do they send the other heroes away... false pride on "Avenger business"...I think surviving is more important...but what do I know!
And finally it gets minus 1 star for the Circus of Crime, self-exlanatory!
That puts us back to 3*
