So she's the greates female master of kung fu? And a black belt? And a master of mysticism? And hypnotism? And she's taken to some carnival tricks? Oh, boy. At least the art has gotten better. But man, if Stan Lee was feeling lazy - maybe he should just write, I'm lazy, kids. Thanks for the nickels. I'm just not going to bother working on this one at all.

Instead, he compliments the art - AGAIN - and tells us "I just can't write anything on this page. Apparently not much on any of the other pages, either. Cap is slowly becoming the patriotic depressed man. Even when he's able to defeat 'Suprema,' he just sulks off at the end.

WAIT A SECOND! Didn't she just take over all of SHIELD here and essentially imprison - ALL the special agents EVERYWHERE? But yeah. It was electricity. You can go. Wow. Bad stuff.

  This story is REALLY far-fetched.

Especially the part where Captain America goes "I know!" and drives off to scour through some newspaper archives in the middle of the fight, then comes back (Presumably at least a few hour later) with a device designed to foil their scheme where they're all standing around waiting.

To the Wolverine Jet! Which is actually not a jet, but Wolverine Van didn't sound as cool.

Never thought I'd see anyone take over SHIELD in a U-HAUL. Also, what exactly were they doing in those few hours? You take over and gain access to the worlds most advanced technology and a fortune of intel, and you...mope around for a while waiting for Captain America to kick your asses?

Again with hypnotism... I really hope they get that gimmick out of their system before long. I can handle alien invasions and robots, but hypnotism is just so, to quote kez, far-fetched.

Thanks again, Martin Goodman, for destroying what made Marvel special with your moronic "no continued stories" policy. This issue was decent, but once again felt rushed and unsatisfying.

2 stars for the 1st app of Suprema! Although, not a great start, she will return decades later with a new name and cause Cap more problems!!

Bad Girls - I would like to see Suprema and Madame Hydra team up for some naughty adventures!!!

Wolverine Blues - Like others have said...Yikes!!!

Dizzy - So, only Scarbo wore a control disc...why not Suprema as well??

'Nuff Said - "It's all over! Our master plan--is down the drain!"-Suprema

Well that was a bit too much easy. They really don't know what's going on with Cap and Sharon though, do they? One issue he's avoiding her, the next she's avoiding him!

Also, I thought the Wolverine Jet was going to be super sweet, so much so that I figured the truck was to take them to their secret airbase. Judging from previous comments, you don't have to imagine my disappointment.

  Russ Says:

I was pretty disappointed in the Wolverine Jet as well. I kept imagining what a certain TV show would've been like if Adam West dressed up in a blue and gold costume with claws to fight crime. "To the Wolverine Jet, Boy Wonder." No. Just....no.

In fact, the whole story seemed pretty campy overall. I just can't imagine what Suprema's gang was doing when Cap got all that stuff together, which must've taken a good couple hours plus. Did they make plans to rule the world using SHIELD's armaments? Did they set up a perimeter to guard against Cap's return? Did they discuss the New York Jets' miraculous Super Bowl win? Or the great performances at Woodstock? With Suprema the lone female in the group, maybe she insisted on a game of Spin the Bottle!

2 stars. This one should've been a 3-plus issue arc because it was actually a pretty good idea. As it stands, it's just another example of the single-issue story being a bad policy.

This felt like mediocre run-of-the-mill stuff to me. Then the lack of an explanation of why Cap wasn't hypnotized as well knocked it down to bad. Then I looked him up on the WWW and found that he's canonically resistant to hypnosis courtesy of his serum. But the story didn't bother to allude to that, so I'm sticking with my low rating.

Pg. 9, panel 4: That is the exact woman you should marry, Cap.

How would amplified hypnotic vibrations bounce off a shield?

Underwhelming story. The revolution came too suddenly, and there is no denouement to the story. Also, he couldn't search the newspapers that quickly.

I've never been much of a fan of Daredevil or Namor, so when I get to their worst issues, I find them especially painful.

For Spider-man, Thor, and Captain America, I've always liked them, and even bad issues of them are entertaining.

Except this one. This was dreadful. This seemed more like a Golden Age Batman story than something from 1970.

I suppose if they'd done it over two issues it could have been okay, but the resolution was terrible, and even some of the details (like the wolverine 'jet') were irredeemably dumb. 1 Star

Marvel Comics apparently only fears one thing...carnies. We have Daredevil fighting in a carnival, this story and apparently somewhere along the line, Thor is meeting up with our old friends, the Circus of Crime. Bah!

One Star.
