  In that last panel, the Red Skull says that as if he isn't constantly able to keep tabs on the guy.

  It was a nice little story until they realized they had to finish it in one issue AND plug the Red Skull!

  I really don't understand how your average person would look at somebody like Captain America and say "he's a washed-up has-been". The dude is in peak physical shape for a human being, he's technically a man in his prime looks-wise, he leads the life of a superhero who has been popular for generations, and he's an American wartime hero in his own right. The guy's a secret agent whose job is beating up evil-doers. He's the most well-respected member of the Avengers.

Yet some guy who is a tax accountant or something see him on tv and says "yeah that guy's boring!" And then Cap is naive enough to believe the ultra-stupid masses.
