Ugh, give him a place in the U.N. already. I don't see why Atlantis wouldn't be entitled to such a title since even Doctor Doom's Latveria is represented...

Mainly because no government wants to go through the hassle of respecting Atlantis' borders as they're all already currently using it for overseas shipping. So they just treat Namor like a threat instead.

Namor declares war on the human race...that trick never works!

Didn't this story happen about 47 and a half times already?

My reaction at see that cover was just "ugh". But it wasn't as bad as I thought. Still bad though. How can you get mad at people for not respecting the borders of your hidden kingdom when you keep the location secret? Yes, boats can cause pollution. You know what causes a lot more? Blowing those boats up! And it doesn't really fit the whole "peaceful" ideal you say you're going for.

Nice PSA disguised as a superhero comic.

Feels more like 100! I'm so tired of the recycled stories in Namor. I did like his speech to the UN.

2 stars for Namor taking his problem to the United Nations!!

Poke Your Eyes Out - Dorma's brassiere is hypnotic!!!

Crush & Squirt - I like the sea turtle mounts!

Hypocrite - Namor complains about the surface world dumping their waste in sea...so, he gets rid of it by dumping it underground. Where it's now Tyrannus and Mole Man's problem!!!

Tyrant - Namor is rewriting history. Granddad Tha-Korr (used to be just Thakorr) ruled the Southern Polar Kingdom off of Antarctica (FF Annual #1). The 1st Atlantis was abandoned also in FF Annual #1. The 2nd Atlantis was destroyed by the US Navy in TTA #98. The 3rd Atlantis to which Namor is referring to was recently built by his fellow Atlanteans in SM #7. This is the first time that Atlantis is linked to the fabled Atlantis. Just wait till Kala hears about this!!!

Floaties - No wonder the humans aren't taking the Atlanteans seriously when they're floating around on silly looking sub dinghy thingies!!!

Imperius Rex - Impressive image of Namor lifting the sub out of the water!!

'Nuff Said - "It's a bird--It's a plane--It's Mr. Spock!"-Space Trippin' Hippie

A nice premise with fairly weak execution, but Namor's dialogue is on point as always.

Science fiction writer Roger Zelazny has a letter in this issue disputing the notion that witches were burned (rather than hanged) in the colonies.

Nice to see that it wasn't Namor being a***this time. At least he's learnt something by now.

A new twist on an old theme. The Sub-Mariner using sanctions against the surface world and it seems to be more effective than punching a few ships. Even if this is Namor waging war against the surface world yet again, I kinda like how this is going so far, even down to Namor's point about the impact of pollution on the undersea environment.

I'm not blaming the UN for recognizing Atlantis's sovereignty. Namor's been way too aggressive in the past, and that's what is searing into the public consciousness. Latveria has sovereingty in the world's eyes because he's been more underhanded in his attacks. Not that Doom would play by the rules of the Geneva Convention to begin with!

2 stars, but it's looking like the self-contained story policy is starting to wind down and the extended arcs are slowly returning.

"wow that atlantean's costume sure looks like an iron man suit. this issue is dumb"

"huh, i guess this part about human being destroying the world is sorta well written. maybe i could give this 3 stars."

"did she just throw a bucket of water on him? 2 stars"

Does Namor not realize how insulting it is to just walk into the UN and start making demands? There are procedures for meeting with the UN General Assembly. Everyone has to go through with those procedures. If he wants representation in the UN, then he needs to apply for it. That will require certain things from him, including disclosing the borders of his claimed territory.

Both Namor's chariot and his throne look like they were recycled from an old carousel ride.
