Iron Man #33 is terrific! Very different story, as a stealth team (led by Spymaster) invades Stark Industries to plant bombs. Iron Man's fake anger scene and the OTT scenes with Kevin O'Brian are minor flaws when the rest of the story is this good. Nice twist with Nick Fury at the end, too. 8/10

Art wise this is the best Don Heck we have seen in a while. That doesn't mean it isn't full of sub-par drawings, it is, but there are some redeeming moments. At least we have the famous Heck style unhurried, which is a nice change. The story: somebody was watching Mission Impossible, eh?, The flashbacks of recent skirmishes were better than the actual comics. I was surprised at the end. The script was alright. (2+)

This issue has great improvement over the other recent Iron Man issues.

Promising. A sort of different direction from previous issues which is a plus.

Wait, MrRsBB - how could you be surprised at the end? It's literally on the cover?
Is Tony Stark pregnant? Because he's got some pretty hardcore mood swings going on through this issue.

Aside from some dumb bits, this was a pretty good issue, with a nice build up for what's coming next. The biggest distraction is Farley London, who I keep thinking is Spock.

The letters in this one were really interesting. It's cool to see how fans at the time reacted to the Firebrand story a few issues back - and to see their merciless bashing of Marvel's previous forays into politics.

4 stars for the 1st app of Spymaster, the Master of Spies!!!

Roll Call - Nice setup of the Espionage Elite, even though we won't see them much after this story arc!!

Rouges Gallery - Yeah, Spymaster looks a lot better after Stark was reminiscing of past encounters...

Say Cheese - In the group photo on p7,p3 is that supposed to the Mole Man's Minotaur from Avengers #17??

Lines - Those are some odd lookin' masks that the Espionage Elite are using!!

Rendezvous - Stark should've known something was up since this Fury was wearing a shirt!!

'Nuff Said - "I don't dig getting orders from a masked cat."-Samson Washington

O'Brien is pretty cool - he reminds me of an Irish Krieger from Archer.

  Yes! Finally a coherent story!

I know it's not Shakespeare, but it kept my interest the whole time (which is definitely not the case in several of the preceding issues...)

The Stark Industries logo looks like a dollar sign. That gave me a surprising amount of enjoyment.

Samson Washington was a circus strongman ... and a Rhodes Scholar? I hope this gets worked into the story somehow, I'd love to see him hoisting a half ton barbell and debating the merits of a free market society simultaneously!

Interesting start to the story arc. Allyn Brodsky's method of weaving characters into the story is different from how the other writers we've seen in the Order have done it; it's a bit rudimentary but still effective. However, he's still a bit old-school when it comes to characterizing women; from the introductions of the Espionage Elite, what does Marya do again? Sounds like she's just decoration to the Spymaster. Sigh. At least she held her own during that training session (pg 11).

The industrial espionage angle seems to work the best for Iron Man, and that was on display here. The Espionage Elite look like they could be interesting foes for Stark and Iron Man, but given their stealth methods, they'd be best if not used too often (like maybe one arc every 3-4 years or so). But the Spymaster disguised as he is looks like another masked baddie meant to surprise us when his identity is revealed (like the Red Numb Skull in Captain American #143).

3 stars. This arc seems to be going much better than many of the recent Iron Man stories.

I agree with O'Brien: Tony never struck me as a rules and regulations guy.

I'm glad the ear of single-issue stories is past. This was kind of a fun start to the story.

I love the fact that Mr. Disguise looks like Leonard Nimoy's character from Mission Impossible.
