#34 continues the Spymaster-raid-on-Stark Industries storyline in fine style. Good stuff for the supporting characters. Kevin O'Brian, Jasper Sitwell and various security guards come across as brave and resourceful. 9/10

Don Heck must be getting more time in his schedule, because the art improves again over last issue. That wouldn't be a grand feat, but still, art is improving every issue. While reading this issue I was thinking that maybe Heck's work is designed to be viewed not zoomed-in; better from a distance. Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on him. The Mission Impossible inspired story continues. There is a lot going on here and it is all pretty well done. The bad guys are tougher than the normal problem makers; or Iron Man is getting weaker? There are a few antagonists who could be the true identity of this latest one (if we have a Scooby-Doo reveal in store, that is); I have one baddie in particular in mind. It is nice to see 1971 ushering in the long story arc in nearly every MDCU title. The script was 50/50; a few pages of action announcements & many pages of good, on-character dialogue.(3)

A bit too rushed and too many plot boxes which makes it a bit boring

The last Iron Man issues are a bit boring for my taste, hope it gets better soon...

Oh come on! "I didn't even bring my Iron Man suit!!!" You gotta be kidding me. Stark takes the suit with him *everywhere*, even the most harmless of errands, and yet he didn't after he was warned of a plot against him?

this was pretty well done, I liked the story...jfpj, did you read the letters page? The USA-centric angle is covered there too! Hey, that's what Marvel gets for doing all those politically charged plot lines!

So the Spymaster has a beam that shoots out of his helmet, just like the Unicorn...

Exciting tale. I don't know if we see the Espionage Elite team in the future but the Spymaster is a regular thorn in Tony's side from now on.

I'm not sure what to think of the Spymaster. He seemed cheesy as did his goon squad.

I know I should be more bothered by what a stereotyped caricature O'Brien is, but after the depiction of blacks in the last Captain America run, I just can't see this as too awful.
Also the Spymaster is the Unicorn, right? Because there's no way that they would create another Iron Man enemy with the stupid power of "shooting lasers from forehead".

O'Brian is such a terrible addition to this comic. That aside, this was decent.

I kinda wish they'd gone all the way with this plot and had Sitwell and O'Brian save the day. Would be a nice change for Iron Man to take a backseat for once.

I noticed a lot of wording errors in this issue. Like "whose" instead of "who's." Stan must be a sloppier editor than I realized. Also, some of those text boxes were overly wordy.

3 stars for the Spymaster taking down evil industrialist Tony Stark!!!

No Prize - Samson Washington is colored wrong for half this issue!!

Sheep - It looks like white shirts and brown pants are the dress code at Stark Industries! (p9,p1)

Sharp Dressed Man - Once again, Jasper gets to tussle with the hot chick! Must be the fuzzy purple jacket and the red bowtie!!!

Pretzel - Funny panel of Iron Man wrapping up Washington!!

Jasper is one of my favorite minor characters at this point. I'm still wondering if the Winter Soldier film is accurate as far as he is concerned. If so, I'm waiting to see why he joins Hydra.

That ending was a little rushed, and I noticed a general increase in those plot boxes since Allyn Brodsky took over the scripting in this book. But overall, I did like this arc, as we seem to have a legitimate threat to Stark Industries that's a little difficult for Iron Man to fight in his usual manner.

I think the Espionage Elite is more interesting than the Spymaster. However, the entire group in general, seems to work like a well-oiled machine and they seemed to give everyone fits. Some upgrades to their skill sets and a little more character development and they could've been a real force to reckon with. Maybe they lost some points for having Kevin and Jasper get the upper hand on them, at least temporarily, but it was nice to see them carry some of the load.

3 stars.

Chivalry is fine, but Jasper should have shot her. She's an enemy. Women are fighting for equality. So, if you would have shot a male enemy, then you should shoot a female enemy in similar circumstances.
