I realized that the Subby series has really grown on me. The wedding issue was spectacularly written and twist at the end I would never have guessed. How on Earth did Llyra ever get to Atlantis this quickly? Did Arnold S.... I mean Attuma plot with her?

Really enjoyed the issue! Yeah the end had a little silliness, since everything explicitly said he was marrying Lady Dorma, not "the woman in front of you". But I'm wondering what Llyra did you the Lady...not to mention her mom.
Where was I on the day of Namor's wedding? I wasn't born yet, but I guess they're not going to do a cutaway to an unfertilized egg.

3 stars for Llyra & Attuma crashing the wedding!!!

Credit Due - Is this Bernie Wrightson's 1st work in the order??

Proteus - Interesting character that unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see again!

Peasants - Once again the Atlanteans put their faith in walls and gates...when they're underwater!!!

Toys - Weird that Namor wonders where Attuma is getting his advanced weapons from. When Attuma has been using advanced weapons since his first appearance!!!

Frickin' A - Yes, Karthon uses frickin' manta rays with frickin' lasers on their heads!!!

'Nuff Said - "So--the Atlanteans and Lemurians think me vanquished, do they--"-Attuma the Barbarian

Great narrative style, wide range of appropriate characters, threatening villains all on an important event for Namor. I enjoyed this issue greatly.

Surely if Attuma was taking the oxygen out of the water, Namor would be suffocating too. Still a cool issue.

Fun issue. I never knew Llyra had the hots for Namor; I thought she wanted him dead. Wow, just like a real surface-world marriage!

The "where were you" narration was pretty cool; it helped tie story elements together in a unique way. Too bad the issue got a little wordy in places. I'm also still hazy on the physics of weapons and machinery that operate on combustion working underwater. Because comics, that's why.

4 stars. Namor's honeymoon is going to be quite awkward.

Pg. 2, panel 4: "though he hasn't ne'er before laid eyes upon you--?" Double negative. So, Proteus HAS laid eyes upon Namor before.

Is Llyra the woman to whom Namor swore fealty? Proteus himself said the ceremony isn't important. Deception doesn't make Namor your husband. Sure it is a reason for dissolving the union.
