UTDestroyer, Supernatural seasons 1 - 5 run a really nice story arc and finish off quite nicely as the series was originally envisaged as a 5 season show. I think the very last scene in season 5 was tweaked as they knew that the show was going to continue beyond the original story arc. They then prolonged many of the story threads into season 6 (I won't say anymore as I don't want to give anything away!)

I hate when shows have a planned timeline and then they stretch it beyond. It's never as good because the writers suddenly have to come up with new material beyond a clean ending.

Good thing CSI Miami is cancelled.

A series like this can only be taken so far before it simply fizzles out. I have several favorites that I don't watch anymore because they have gone beyond what was originally intended. CSI miami comes to mind as well as Supernatural.

I can handle spoilers. I just think of it as re-watching a show that you know all the plot turns ahead of time.

yea, that sucked. Especially since they knew it was ending.

Well, seasons 1 through 7 wrap up pretty good. Season 8 sort of picks up a non-loose thread, makes it loose and keeps going.

All I want from the TV shows that I enjoy are that they wrap up nicely when the run ends. I still feel cheated about the end of Angel. I wanted to see him killing hordes of demons, but no.

It comes and goes. First 2 seasons was very "monster of the week", although the ongoing plotline was super weak. Later seasons was mostly about the overall plot, but it was done better, so the tradeoff works.

Problem with season 7 is at the end of Season 6 they finsihed what had been a multi-season build. So this season tried to branch off of that and "amp" it up. But it just doesn't work as well.

I haven't gotten around to watching this yet as I am still working on the Incredible Hulk TV series, but I have heard good things about the early seasons.

I still watch it. I am a pretty big fan of the show, although your right, season 7 has been a little rough.
