Wow. I actually got that when I was a kid and remember it fondly. I've probably read it 5 times.

I've never ready any novels based on comic characters, however my grandmother bought me "The Death and Life of Superman" back in like 1994. I never read it because i've always been a "Marvel Zombie" and i pretty much think Superman has always been lame in particular. I think i ended up selling it for like $10 on ebay long ago.

Nope - I don't really like them. They don't feel like comics, and they don't really feel like novels either. It's a bad compromise.

Which wouldn't be so bad if any of the books were particularly good.

The only thing that I find irritating is they are non-canonical, so all character development is essentially pointless.

I am not too crazy about them. I am an old school girl, I like and prefer to see pictures, panels, and dialog bubbles. Comics all the way!
Though we do have a book stashed away somewhere that implies that Gambit and Storm had a thing going on, that wasn't so bad.

I know novels based on marvel characters are non-canonical, but does anyone enjoy them. I read Mutant Empire trilogy when I was much younger, and I liked it then, but I was pretty young. Any thoughts or opinions? Are they worth the read?
