Big fan of parody music. Still not sure who can top Richard Cheese and Lounge against the machine. Their versions of Slipknot, SoaD, Papa Roach, Britney songs and various movie themes... warms my heart. Also there is a great parody true-metal band called Nanowar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqMo-B5LhcA Pure genius

Re: Comedy/Parody Music
Not sure if we covered this, but I have been listening to a lot of Garfunkle and Oats. They are incredibly funny.
This one particularly made me laugh. Especially the comment about the "when a door closes a window opens" metiphor people always use. Damn funny. Also their hand job song makes me laugh.

Re: Comedy/Parody Music
Weird Al is one of my personal heroes. I bow to his mastery of the parody genre. I also am amazed at how well he can imitate ANY band's style; some are obvious, some not so much, but he can do them all.
As to the OP, are you aware that Weird Al also parodied Avril Lavigne's signature song, and the first verse was on the same topic as yours?
I have written about a dozen parodies in Weird Al's style (lyrics as close to the originals as possible) for a few different things; I did American Pie twice, once for a work event and once for a Diablo II website. I suppose some parodies on comic book ideas would be appropriate. Maybe I'll think up a couple.

I really like The Lonely Island. Too bad the dudes left SNL, they were great there. Also, Weird Al was has some old songs that are pretty good.

I love Tom Lehrer, his songs are hilarious and extremely catchy; and they've aged surprisingly well considering the subject matter. Also bonus points since Reed Richards reference to Wernher von Braun is one of the more memorable moments from Civil War IMHO.

I thought we talked about him. His zombie office worker song was pretty good.

I can't believe I neglected to mention this band before, but from the genius that brought the world Alestorm, I give you Splen:
"When suddenly from out the fog a mystic man appeared Richard Branson, with his mighty beard He said to us "fear not my friends for I will save the day, These aliens will be destroyed, I will make them pay!" "
