I am in Florida for a vacation, and it was awesome until this afternoon when what looks to be a 7 day forcast of rain hit. Mother nature hates me.

Or rather, I guess Karma really is a bitch.

Is now the wrong time to say that it's been a 4 day weekend in the uk or the queens diamond jubilee....

This is not at all what you said you were looking for, but if you like drinking and... uhm... well, in Lakewood, OH (where I live) there are no less than 30 bars in 5.5 sq mi!

Every week is a vacation for me!!

I'm a beach goer - no mountains for me. Although I do know the Adirondack Mountains are amazing. Perhaps you can come visit NY and run for the hills there. Never been West - always stayed East.

A friend of mine suggested Oregon but for the life of me I really can not think of anything cool from that state. If it were not for the fact that we just remodeled the house and have a good chunk of it paid off I would sell it out right, pack up and run for the hills.

Colorado is a great place to hide out. I used to live near Grand Junction.. Aspen isn't too far away from there, if you fancy yourself some slopes; plenty of places to hide in the mountains.

Its really been nonstop for a week or two now between bouncing from work, school, home, hospital and dealing with contractors. I am seriously considering a vacation this coming Sept. Anyone visit a local place (domestic to the US), I need a good get away plan and I was thinking anywhere with some nice mountains and a good cabin to hide out in.
