Yeah, in the actual golden age he wasn't, but post-Crisis on Infinite Earths I think that it was retconned to be that he found one of the Guardians' Lanterns, or something along those lines.

Well Alan Scott on earth-2 is a regular green lantern, wasn't the golden age Alan Scott not affiliated at all with the lantern corps as his powers are magic based as he states this in [strike]secret origins[/strike] rebirth

I agree with the above statement wholeheartedly.

Fights are fun to read(when they're done well), and are an absolutely integral part of superhero comics, but for me the real draws are the characters and immersing myself in a fictional universe.
