You just gotta love Rorschach and the rest of the anti-hero characters in Watchmen. I always liked the comics and I'm pretty psyched about the sequel coming out, I just hope it lives up the nitty gritty convoluted feel of the comics and the first movie.

I have been reading more on this. Apparently its going to be not 1 title, but a series of 4 issue titles each focusing on a different character with a different creative team. I think the title of the series as a whole is going to be Before Watchman and it is going to be all prequel..
I read that JMS is doing the Rorschach 4 issue prequel, although where I read that is sketchy sometimes, so that could be wrong. I do know he has a run on it. Also on Bleeding Cool there was a article where Kevin Smith said he had been offered one of the titles back in 2010, so this has been in the works for a while.

Of course not, but in this day and age, the airing of grievances is far more public, per zweineuf's earlier comments.

Yea, well business is rocky. And, its not like you expect Stan to say "Hello True Believers, Things are really fucked up over here. That Ditko is a Dicko. Excelsior."

It's true, if you just read Stan's Soapbox and the Bullpen Bulletins at the time, you would think that it was one big happy family. Meanwhile, you've got Stan and Ditko only communicating through messengers and Kirby with one foot out the door. Ignorance is bliss.

While I do agree that JMS is way out of line, I do also love his stuff. I was/am a huge Babylon 5 fan.
Also, about DC wanting to continue a franchise....Hollywood has had this precidence for years and most people don't think twice. The guys who wrote "How to write a movie for fun and profit" (or it was something similar to that) pointed out that Hollywood would rather make a known quanity, even if it is stupid (like Battleship the movie), then the finest new work they could be handed...
Comic industries are the same way. Look how hard DC leans in on Batman (it seems like have the new 52 are now bat titles) and Superman....Or how wolverine and spider-man are in dozens of ongoing titles. This is the way the business works.
Creators need to watch what they are signing if they are so concerned about their "legacy"...once you sign away your rights....they are gone.

Re: JMS badmouthing Alan Moore and saying he wouldn't complain if Babylon 5 prequels were made without his say-so, I quote one of the posters on that site: Quote: Hans he may say this now, but we all know he would complain anyway. god knows we all heard about it enough when his Spider-Man and Thor and etc were meddled with. I've never been a big JMS fan anyway, but I really hate how the internet makes us all aware of the personalities of artists and writers; it becomes difficult to separate them from their works. I know we talked about this with Bendis tweets and also the whole Frank Miller occupy Wall Street thing. Maybe that's why Stan Lee is so appealing. Seems like he'd be a cool dude to hang out with.

Right, that's what I'm saying, they wrote the songs and then unwittingly signed the copyrights to the actual music, in addition to the recordings over to the record label. I'm pretty sure that case was eventually resolved though. Since they were minors at the time that they signed the contracts, they were able to prove that they were misled by whoever had POA at the time, or something like that (I'm remembering this from a Music History class I took my freshman year, so my memory is a bit hazy).
Edit: Oops, I guess Magneto already made my point for me while I was typing. You can file my above statements with the Department of Redundancy Department.
