Really good fun. It's not gonna be threatening my "Top 10 movies of all time" list, but I had a great time watching it and would love to see it again.

I'd say it's the best comic book movie I've seen. The casting is great, the writing is pretty good - especially the funny moments they sprinkled throughout. There are some real gems in there that had me laughing aloud.

Captain America wasn't unwatchable, but I didn't really like it. I can basically remember nothing about it at all now - which is never a good sign.

The origin I thought they did pretty well, it just all totally fell apart after that. Needed to be an hour longer so they could have cemented the plot better. (**SPOLIERS LIE HERE**) Cap rescues all the dudes from Hydra, then they’re looking at a map, then suddenly we get a montage of action scenes mostly involving him shooting in slow motion at stuff off-screen. It took me until almost the end of the sequence to realise that they’d actually started taking the fight to Hydra there. Bucky’s death carried no weight whatsoever, and I still have no idea what the Red Skull was trying to achieve or what his plan ultimately was. I’m taking a stab in the dark and saying his ultimate weapon of destruction was one of those disintegrator rays capable of taking out a city, and that was on the plane. But why is he flying to New York? Is he going to blow up the city as a display of power, threaten to blow it up, transport his death ray to a secret base there? Is he demanding the nations of the world make him supreme ruler of everything, or one million dollars, or free breakfasts at Dennys for all Hydra members? Maybe it was explained and I just missed it (I was really struggling to pay attention by the time the end was in sight), but I honestly don’t have a clue what was going on in the second half.

Good first two points, old nemesis.

I didn't like 20 minutes of Captain America dancing across America.
I didn't like that the entire second act of the movie was basically a trailer of action scenes.

I truly detested the entire sequence that involved him getting on the plane at the end of the movie...
He manages to jam the door open with his shield and slip through, leaving the girl and the old guy on the other side... he runs after the plane and suddenly there's the girl and the old guy in the CAR speeding after the plane... it was just so dumb.

it had some nice visuals here and there and when we got to see him fight it was pretty good. But as a movie it was a FAIL.

What about that movie didn't you like....besides the costume which I give you.

I saw The Avengers in 3D, and was glad I did. Starnes is right, no cheap 3D gimmicks. I felt it was more like Avatar, kinda added some good depth.
