I guess I was thinking of the mini-series version of stark. Sucks they decided to ignore that completely.
They did something similar with Ultimates Annual 1. There are all these people who are suped up by he super-soldier formula, and a bunch of people in Iron Man type suits. But that is all you ever see of either of those things. reading other books, its like it never happened.

The two Iron Man minis written by Ellis in the infancy of the Ultimate U say that Ultimate Stark's entire skin is brain material or some nonsense. You could argue that would make him smarter than his 616 counterpart. But those minis aren't referenced again so it's anyone's guess... I really enjoyed that mini-series, and it gave Ultimate Stark a really interesting back-story. Shame they didn't run with it. I remember reading somewhere that it was basically removed from canon. In the end, I think Ultimate Stark turned out to be very similar to the 616 version. I haven't really seen anything to indicate he's any smarter. Certainly the Iron Man models in 616 seem more technologically advanced.

Robots do not count! I'm afraid if I don't say DOOM I'm going to get punished. Ultimately, I would choose Stark. He's a sneaky little chum.

You all seem to be forgetting that the Toad Men already answered this question for us way back in Incredible Hulk #2. Using the power of their magnetic grapplers, they "focused on the most brilliant scientific brain on Earth." Namely, one Bruce Banner. Who are we to question the wisdom and technology of the mighty Toad Men?

I was just thinking that he was pretty smart if he can create a formula that no one has been able to successfully reproduce since.

Are you accusing Dr Erskine of being a mutant? Cause that's a legit question in general in a world with mutants. Did we talk about this before? Or are you saying Dr E gets to be in the top smarty guys list?
