That is really good on Marvel's part. Quite creative thinking on the mother's part too. I wonder if she asked them to create a character like Blue Ear to help her out or if the public relations staff just saw the opportunity.

That Neal Adams run on x-men was amazing. Seriously, 1969?! And to think it will just get better!

That was my thought. The Panel layout in that book feels very modern to me. its not the 3 rows of 2 square layout that pretty much every issue holds to. Its very stylized. When I read that issue, I was blown away by the Art.

True it doesn't quite match todays art, but it was leaps and bounds closer then anything then, or that I have run across in the 1100 issues I have read since that one.

Really, aside from the printing technique, that page was very modern, especially for a book from the 1960s.

its not the best panel from that book. There is one with cyclops firing at a sentinel that looks very modern, but I couldn't find it.

My wall/it gets better moment. There's still a long ways to go before the industry gets really good, but this is the start of modern comics to me. Came around at the right time. Jim Lee FTW! Wraparound covers? Are you kidding me?
