I thought the action scenes felt like a prolonged trailer. Plus the whole "Agent Carter shows up to storm the Hydra stronghold with full make up and then happens to be in the car with TLJ and get a kiss" sequence was ridiculous. After that, once Cap got on the plane I was ready for the film to be over.
Jonny Storm did do a satisfactory turn as Cap. His movements with the shield as a weapon were all really good. They did kind of waste Bucky as a character. If you're not going to give Cap a sidekick, why have the sidekick in the movie?

I agree about Nick Fury, that bugged me also. When they introduced Dum Dum Dugan I was like, ok, here come the commandos and a young Nick Fury...but nope. Unless the one African American guy was supposed to be him, but since they never mentioned it who knows.

Not released here yet, but I will be seeing it as soon as it is. Curse you staggered global release dates.

Which don't seem make any sense any more, not with the internet and the way the world is so global. Other movies have been released same day in multiple countries.

I saw them all this summer. X-Men: First Class 9/10, Captain America 8.5/10, Thor 6/10, and Green Lantern 3-D 5/10. Specifically, I thought Michael Fassbender stole the show in X:FC. Only other movie I want to see in theaters this summer is Cowboys vs Aliens.

Yep. Then they complain that everyone is downloading it.

Foot, meet bullet.

I thought Thor the Movie was alright. The CGI visuals were stunning. But I stuck through the credits and for Thor and Cap, the animation crew probably filled like 5 minutes of scroll. This is a general beef with Hollywood, but why do they have to burn big name actors in minor roles? Tommy Lee Jones as Col whatshisface? Coulda been anybody. Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May? Give me a break. Save some money, give some struggling actor a bone.

Does it count if they are doing it to make a joke out of big actors in small parts?

Still, very funny scene. I had forgotten about that.

I read some speculation somewhere that the reason they avoided having Fury with the quasi-Commandos was because having another guy from WWII active in the modern day kind of lessens the impact of Cap's revival. Which I kind of see.

I really liked the film but I was dissapointed not to see Cap in the ice.

I also wasn't sure about the action scene montages.

I've read that they wanted to leave it baggy to have more World War 2 sequences in the sequels. That made me wonder why they bothered showing him going missing at all.

If they're planning three films why not have him crash into the ice at the end of the second or third film? If you show him being found and revived in Avengers I don't think cinema audiences would have a problem understanding it. In fact it could add a little mystery to Cap's own films; how does he wind up in the ice?

Anyway, I think we can all agree that Johnny Storm was splendid.
