Yeah, the fight scenes in particular are really bad when compared to Daredevil (or even to Arrow). They just looked slow, lazy, and boring.

I also thought Dany's characterization was awful, especially early on. I understand that they're trying to say that he still has the maturity of a 10 year old, but that doesn't make sense. He trained to be a warrior ninja. He should be a lot more mature and disciplined than that.

Yeah, you can do "he's emotionally stunted because of what happened" without making him a childish dipshit.

I think he is just a sh*tty actor and that's what makes this series almost unbearable. If you have someone that doesn't have the emotional spectrum of a piece of wood then it probably would have been much better.

I just don't find him that bad. He's a better actor then half the people on AoS (especially season 1 AoS)

Ward Meachum was the most painful part of the show for me to watch. Yeah, I thought that Danny was bad, but nowhere near Ward Meachum bad.

Let’s not forget the Exposition Hobo (as coined in the Polygon review), who helpfully drives the plot along early on. That still stands out as some of the most lazy storytelling I’ve seen in a long time.

I don't find him that bad either, I just think that Jones is given bad stuff to work with.

And his choreography in the fights scenes isn't that good, which is something they could've easily fixed by having him wear a mask and letting a double to all of the fight scenes. Just a lot of stupid creative decisions.

Anyone who had seen Daredevil knows it's all about choreography of fights. They have to be smooth, with as long shots as possible.

With Jones I have a feeling he was shot like a puppet.
Move a hand. CUT. tighten your fist CUT move a leg. Different camera angle. Kick. CUT

and so on and on.

Like he couldn't rememebr the choreography or was unable to repeat what was shown to him

This is something I cannot easily deal with with tv series about master of martial arts...

But as a great "Silk" TV Series fan I was just mesmerized by Coleen.

To bad there was so little of her in Defenders...
