Did anyone else watch the pilot last night? I thought it was pretty good...at least as good as to be expected from a network TV show. Definitely looking forward to the rest of this show a lot more than Inhumans.

I tried to watch it. I recorded it with my DVR. Then I started watching it and saw a message scrolling at the bottom of the screen saying something like "Spectrum is having issues with audio on WXIX but you can turn on closed captioning to follow along". The sound worked fine for the first 10 minutes and then cut out.

I'm sure glad that I'm paying $150/month instead of illegally downloading everything! /sarcasm

I'd suggest Hulu, then. They have all the episodes, and it's a hell of a lot easier.

Truthfully, I'm really enjoying the show. It suffers from TV-level special effects, like Generic Glowy Hands, but the story is interesting. Coby Bell is a surprisingly sympathetic villain, you get a lot of characters that will probably never get movie attention. I'm shocked that Thunderbird is one of my favorite character.

This is why I pay for streaming, and have no cable/satellite. I mean, I go overboard on my streaming (netflix, hulu, CBS, Amazon Prime), and still my total "tv" bill is like $50 a month (not counting internet, but i'd have to pay for that anyways). And there's nothing that is live on TV that I haven't been able to watch streaming, including news programs (ok...excluding sports. None of that give me sports. But...I don't watch sports, so this works out for me). Plus there's that giant catalog each one has (there' significant overlap, but each service I pay for brings something to the table). I know people say "I don't wanna pay for all these streaming services", but it's less than cable tv or satellite and I can drop part without dropping everything, if I feel the need.

yeah I started catching up on this and I like it as well.... I like all the name dropping, and the unexpected characters, like Sage, that show up.... I'm 6 episodes into it, and I like Thunderbird a lot, too.... I don't like Dreamer though.... she is too manipulative, and seems bound to cause problems...

Season finale airs tonight. I would say that the themes and plot lines have been really good, but some of the acting is sub-par. I think this show could have been better if it were on FX and targeted at an adult audience, but it's still pretty good and I will keep watching.

I just watched the season finale and have to say I am very disappointed. There was so much opportunity for this show to be something different but instead they are just putting different characters into X-men roles that everyone is already familiar with.

Just finished it myself. I can agree with that assessment, that it was a missed opportunity to tell a new story, but I still liked it quite a bit. The second half of the story seemed like it was missing a character. Most of the characters were so firmly in one role or another, they didn't really have anyone in an ambiguous position. Jace, and even his wife, they teased with, but wrapped it up really quickly, and Lorna's development was telegraphed so clearly that it wasn't really surprising as it happened.

while I don't disagree with this assessment... I actually liked it for these reasons.... my issues is they should have just called it "The New X-Men" since a huge percentage of the show takes elements from both Grant Morrison's New X-Men and Kyle & Yost's New X-Men V2.....
