This isn't alien vs predator. This is closer to the old Alien (or rather Aliens) movies, a much much better run of movies.

My feeling when I saw the preview for this was just...
"wow that was an interesting vignette."
I feel like they showed me the whole movie.

Yea, but you never know. I was saying the same thing about Avengers.

The first AvP was a decent enough movie. It was really dumb, but it did exactly what it said on the tin. The second one though.....the worst thing a movie like that can be is boring, and it delivered that in spades.

The most recent Predator movie with Adrian Brody was pretty good I thought.

^ I'd say decent, and my decent is most people's pretty good. What kind of steroids do you think Brody was on for that one? He all of a sudden had tickets to the gun show.

Wait, there's a recent Predator movie? I must have been down my hole for that.

Saw this today, it was awesome. It had a great tone, good suspense, very sold performances, one exceptional performance from Michael Fassbender (big surprise), and some of the best 3D cinematography I've seen. It was also very thoughtful and philosophical without being preachy, which was welcome. As to our original discussion, it simultaneously had everything and nothing to do with Alien.

That was a thoughtful critique and may have reversed my opinion on eventually seeing this.
