The George Bush fiasco was pretty funny.

As for the series itself, I've been very impressed with the way they've portrayed it. It follows the books for the most part, and what they've changed generally works very well within the scope of the series. I particularly loved the Arya/Tywin scenes they added in this last season.

I hate watching shows as they come out. I'd much rather wait until the whole season is done and then watch it all in a row, but i can't with some shows because it would most definitely be spoiled by someone before i get around to watching it :( That being said, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!

Just spoil it for yourself by reading the books! It's totally worth the time investment.

I haven't seen the episode that that happens in yet, but now that I know it's coming up, I think I'll watch it tonight. So cool!

I don't really have time to read comic books so reading a series of novels is pretty much out of the question at the moment lol. Plus I am afraid to read them because I like being surprised by the show, not knowing anything about the storyline of the books. Same thing with The Walking Dead. I can't read the books until the show is over since i started the show first. I don't want to have conflicting continuities or little things they changed rolling around in my head causing me to nitpick everything all the time. It would ruin it for me I think.

It's like when I read the Jurassic Park novels before I saw the movies. The first movie was great because they stuck pretty close to the book (they did change some things which bugged me, but it still was awesome). BUT when it comes to the second movie, I HATE IT because pretty much nothing from the book was in the movie. It's like 1 scene that ran for 5 minutes was in the movie and they ignored the rest of the book. It kind of sucks because I know people that really like the 2nd movie, but I just can't do it because of how much they strayed from the book.

Same thing with Queen of the Damned (holy crap that was a turd of a movie)

My guess is Spielberg opted Lost World just for licensing a sequel to the movie, rather than adapt the actual content of the novel. They even used ideas from the first book that didn't make it in the first movie, like the opening of the second movie is very similar to the beginning of the first novel. And I bet you wouldn't like Lost World even without having read the book. It comes nowhere close to the original and is filled with awful product-placment (the first one did that too, but in a sophisticated, self-reflecting way which was pretty amusing (theme-park filled with merchandising you could actually buy in real life but it made sense being placed in the movie vs. "Oh! Is this a NICON??!" in the second)).

Yeah they actually used more stuff from the books in the third movie than they did in the second movie

Well if you feel that way then maybe leave the books until the show is over. Although I do enjoy the show, and not too much is "changed", there is a LOT missing. The show feels so much smaller than the books. In my mind's eye, the books created a vast world, with a sprawling King's Landing and a behemouth Wall. When watching the show though, I feel a bit defalted.
