Just got back from a midnight premier of The Avengers and it was awesome. In my mind that was exactly what a superhero movie should be. It was intense but funny and, this might sound strange, really well lit. All around excellent movie.

******************Spoilers Section******************

1. Is it just me or was Black Widow the biggest badass in the film? Homegirl got shit done when it counted and with no powers to boot.

2. I don't know that I've ever felt more gratified in one of these movies than when Hulk thrashed Loki around like a rag doll. Man was that cathartic.

3. So, Thanos in the end credit sequence. Got me thinking about other potential new characters in the next film. Captain Marvel perhaps? The team is already male heavy so maybe a female Captain Marvel, like Carol Danvers in the new CM series. I would like to see Wanda and Pietro (Not that they have anything to do with Thanos). I'm thinking that as mutants they might be tied to whatever license 20th Century Fox has for the X-Men though. Any other thoughts?

****************End Spoilers**************

For No 3 - Wanda and Pietro actually aren't fully tied to the Fox license. If they're in marvel movies they can't talk about their mutantness or any of the other X characters. If they're in fox, they can't talk about anything except their X-Origins.

Spoilers

1. Yeah, but Hulk stole the show regardless

2. See above

Also, seems Americans got a post post credits scene - the avengers eating schwarma

It was made my Joss Whedon. He loves Badass heroins, its his trademark. As soon as I heard his name, I knew that she was going to get a major move up as far as presence in the film goes. I mean this guy made Buffy, Dollhouse, Firefly (which although Mal was the star, a lot of focus went to River).

I look forward to when the license reverts back to Marvel.

Holy crap! I agree with every positive thing said about this movie. I was skeptical that this would be "the best" Marvel movie I've seen... but it definitely puts a good fight for that spot!

The ONLY bad thing I can really come up with is Cap's suit. That's not bad.

Yep, it is incredible. I just heard there are 2 after credit endings. One in the middle and one at the very end. Now I have to go see it at the theater again.

This is one of the few movies that can live up to the hype.

I saw both after credits scenes. I will probably go see it again anyways.

To sum up how I felt right after the climax:

Everything before the climax I was just sitting and fist pumping after every punch and smash.

Saw it last night, it was amazing. Whedon did a great job, it definitely had his style but he was still true to the source material (both the comics and the previous five films).

************SPOILERS************

Loved seeing Thanos, especially so faithful a rendition of him (they could have done something like that stupid "Galactus" in the FF movie). Captain Marvel would make sense, but I don't know that they'll want to overcomplicate things. I hear a rumor that they're making a Guardians of the Galaxy movie so maybe that would be the lead-in.
