He did Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. Huh.

That list isn't far off, except for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is an abomination on the original to me.

Pee Wee's was his first feature film. Burton asked Elfman to do the score which was his first assignement as a composer. The beginning of a beautiful friendship...

I found that film pretty weird, but I don't have any connection to Pee Wee (I don't think he made a name outside of the US), which could be my missing link for 'getting' that movie.

And to my shame, haven't seen the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, neither read the book.

The book is very good, and the original movie is amazing. Perfectly weird. In my mind, Gene Wilder IS wonka.

Do yourself a favor, go see it.

Batman Returns isn't better than anything. It's certainly not better than Big Fish!
I think Big Fish is my favorite Burton film.
I'm not really a very big fan of his but I loved that movie.

Looking at that list, I enjoyed Dark Shadows more than most of those movies....

I also am with doom on Big Fish, while It might not be my favorite of the list, that movie is way under appreciated. I hear it get a bad rap all the time, but I really enjoyed it.

Can you give me some clues? Haven't seen the sequel in a while. In a long while. But it never occured to me, that the second one was anything THAT bad. 3 and 4, fine with me (although I can even enjoy them both in some parts  ), but the Burton ones? I'm in the dark.
