There was a post on movie news site saying there is a new mortal kombat movie in the works. I can't imagine that is for real, since the first movie, if I remember, was kind of a flop.

The second was a flop. The first I would be willing to watch again every once in a while.

Neither were any good, but the second was a particularly strong flavour of bad. Would make a pretty good stupid over-the-top action movie though if they got the right people on it.

And the right writer.

I'm a fan of the first one.

But I like the films of W. S. Anderson in general. Cheesy entertainment. Event Horizon is my favorit, after that, Mortal Kombat.

I'm interested in the new one, though I didn't like the previous sequels. I've read a year ago that the new one should follow the original, like Highlander 3 did with ignoring the second one. Don't know if that's still up-to-date.

If it was that far out, best guess is they have switched writers on the script and it is somewhat different then the previous go at a redo of the movie.

I'm sorry, but even the idea of who is writing the movie version of a fighting game is silly to me.

It's Bloodsport.

How could you be amazed of any movie-idea after they made a film of Battleship?
