Taking a cue from the articles on the main site, any speculation on the villain in Thor 2? We know the movie is gonna have more Asgard than the first movie did (which felt about 50/50 Asgard/Midgard), so is it gonna be an Asgardian? Will it be a major villain or someone pulled from Marvel obscurity?

I'm just hoping for more lightning and less whirlwinds.

Enchantress maybe? There hasn't really been a strong female villain in these films yet. Plus it could add some tension to the Thor/Jane Foster relationship. Then the guy from the one Bond film could play the Executioner to go along with her.

I heard maybe Thor and Loki will partner up?

Wait, wait, there is a Thor 2? I think I missed Thor 1. When did it come out? :( I'm kicking myself right now! I can't believe I missed it.

Yeah, Thor came out a while ago. It was alright, reasonably entertaining. =P

The only major Thor villains that stick out for me are Ulik, Mangog.. and maybe the Absorbing Man? He'd be pretty cool on the big screen I think.

I heard that Thor 2 wasn't going to have too much to do with Earth? Not sure how true that is... but that would suggest one of the Asgardian villains like Ulik.

Or maybe... Ego, the living planet! ;D

You should really see that. Best of the current crop in my opinion.

I enjoyed Thor 1, but in rewatching it, it has serious pacing problems. Heavy up front, then a whole lot of nothing happens, then action at the end that is split into 2 parts, with what seems like the climax of the movie being in the first part of the final battle. Really uneven pacing.

I really liked Thor, I don't mind the pacing, I'm quite keen on 'big openings ' like this film had, then the rest of it is a bit more personal, smaller.

The one thing about the film (minor spoilers) that REALLY annoys me is in a film with wonderful special effects there is one shot that is SO bad it really jumps out at me every time. It's the bit where depowered Thor gets battered across the face by the guardian. It's AWFUL, Thor clearly gets yanked from behind, not hit from in front and the movement of the guardian is really jerky and it looks fake.

Other than that, I really liked it, it's on my list of films that I'll happily watch whenever they are on (along with things like commando, iron man, lotrs, batman, starwars)
