So I have a series of weird questions. I usually listen to audio books (or watch shows from the various orders) while I work on the sites. I currently have nothing in the orders that's unabridged for audiobook from any of the orders (finished the new ST book, and the older ones seem mostly abridged, which I don't want). I've plowed my way through the entire Safehold, Jack Reacher, Prey, Honor Harringon, Vorkosiagn series, and Old Man's War series, and I'm out of stuff to listen to.

Based on the series I just listed as an idea for what I like, anyone have any good audio book recommendations, preferably a series so I can listen for a while.

Second question. If I was going to revisit dragonlance, what's the best way to read it. Clearly you have to read the chronicles first. But, do you do chronicles, legends, all the stories that revolve around the original companions, then chronological after that; or chronicles, legends then chronological; or just chronicles and then chronological (I did publication order once years ago, and it wasn't super enjoyable once you got out of the run of books about the companions, cause it kept jumping all over the place).

So that's my 2 questions. Audio book series suggestions and suggestion on how to revisit dragonlance.

When I started reading Dragonlance I used this site:

http://www.dlnexus.com/products/reading.aspx

This was a really good place to start.

Well, starting is easy. Clearly you start with Chronicles and Legends. But...what to do after that. I've seen that site, and they're kinda wishy washy on the rest, the way they break each "age" into core and supplemental.

So you read the core stuff, then 5th age, then age of mortals then historical novels last?

I actually went right from the core 3 and finished the 4th age, then moved to the 5th. I did it the following way:

Chronicles
Legends
Tales
4th age (remainder)
5th age

You can intersperse the historical books anywhere you want as they provide background lore information and some are better than others. Here is another good site that I just found:

http://www.angelfire.com/folk/native_son/DL/

This seems pretty close to how I read them.

I can dig up my list if you like. Its down with my books at home, might be a day or two before I can dig it out though.

I concur with the Jemsmk! This seems like a good list.

I might move the Lost Chronicles up to just before Age of Mortals though...

I've never read Dragonlance, so I'm no help there. Regarding audiobooks, have you listed to The Dresden Files? Or how about William Shakespeare's Star Wars?

Yea, I've read the desden files. I'm not a big fan of urban fantasy, although that is somewhat better than most of the genre. Shakespear's star wars? Is that a stand alone book?

There's a book for Episodes I-VII that imagines how that Star Wars movie would be told as a Shakespearean play. Besides being in beautiful iambic pentameter, the author has lots of fun with language, fan opinions, pop culture, and repurposing of some of Shakespeare's best bits. I HIGHLY recommend them.

It's a series, not a single book. One book for each numbered film so far (except for The Last Jedi). They're amazing, and the audio versions include full casts. Well worth checking out.

I'm currently listening to the Mistborn series and have been enjoying it quite a bit, the "magic" in it really fun and used well.
